Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
On demand box sets are part of your subscriptions and not a 'free extra' as a subscription is required to access and is advertised as such.
Ofcom regulate Sky and state that if you do not receive the service you pay for and/or is advertised you are entitled to compensation.
Diffrent call centre operatives will give you diffrent answers. Just be determined in your approach.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
So after a couple of downloads worked, started watching Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol again, episode 9 downloaded automatically when we started watching episode 8, but now Eposode 10 (the final episode) won't download....failed again...Will be calling Sky again tomorrow and see if I can get this escalated....
BT Smart Hub 2
Not that the Internet provider has anything to do with it else all downloads will fail, regardless of channel....come on Sky....take this issue seriously

So a interesting call with Sky after a software update did nothing ( shocker ). Apparently it isn't a National outage ... just a few people. Also you won't be getting any money back as the service is 'free' as part of a paid package lol. Bandits
I don't know what you have been told on the phone but I can assure you Sky are investigating which is why a Sky Community Manager posted on here asking a few questions one of which what the ISP was as it is some sort of issue on the BT network by the looks of it based of other people's replies.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
Yere I'm not on BT so I'm not sure. Of the four fixes and resets I'm been suggested and talked through by Sky none has worked. Just been told to wait for a update from Sky team.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
@Chloe-W22 I have tried a few of the programmes that people are having problems with such as
Never mind the buzzcocks,
succession and
rise of the tudars,
all downloaded with no problems at all I already have the lost symbol downloaded so can't try that
I have Sky as my broadband provider

Rubbish what are you talking about, the Sky Engineer fitted the Sky router and plugged it into my BT Router
I have never heard of Sky fitting a router to another broadband provider's equipment. The other person on the community forum bought a Sky router to do the same thing and that was definitely illegal.
The problem could be that een though you are using a Sky router, it still has to go through BT. One thing to try is go into the advanced settings of the Sky Q box and change it so it's not using the DNS server from BT. 1.1.1.1 is Cloudflare DNS and 8.8.8.8 is Google DNS. Both are free to use.
It's not necessarily illegal to buy a Sky Q hub(ER110 and ER115) from the internet. Sky used to sell these routers and anyone who was given one as a new broadband customer owned them only customers that were given them as part of their Q setup had/have to return them. This was prior to Sky changing their terms and conditions so that now all broadband equipment must be returned so the Q hub is a grey area
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer
Sky Q 2 TB (Silver)Box, 2 Mini boxes since June 2016, all connected by wifi
Sky Broadband Hub/SR203, Sky Ultrafast broadband
Ultimate on Demand, Q Experience/UHD, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema
LG 49SJ 810 V UHD TV, Google Pixel 7 Pro mobile

I notice one common thing in most of these issues. BT Broadband. Is there an issue with BT and Sky Q?

That is what Sky are investigating as this is also affecting Sky+ customers.

Knowing BT is causing a problem with Sky, why stay with BT when you have Sky?

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
So are you accusing them of causing this?
To note that Sky Go on the PC seems to work OK for a few tests.

I'm not accusing BT of anything. It may just be an incompatability without anyone doing anything on purpose.
I don't know what Sky and/or BT are doing. But it does seem most of the problems involve BT. I did read at some point that one of BT's newer hubs can be a problem with Sky.

Re: SkyQ Download Failed Item Unavailable
I've not change anything in several years so its not the hub. Other dowloads work OK so how can it be the box or the internet connection.
This is a back end SKY issue not a BT issue.
