Hardly Ad skipping.
You are still having to wait a fair amount of time and you will have to do it again a few or more times in an hourly programme.
The worst thing about using these terrestrial third party apps, is having to remember what app you are in for such things and switching your brain each time to remember. Its just a poor UI experience. Who wants that.
So easy on Sky Q saying skip 4 minutes 50 seconds and its immediate.
Sky Stream with two pucks (former Sky Q and Sky+ customer).
Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Mobile unlimited data. Sky Protect smart tech kit tester.

Re: SkyGlass Awful
I've read all 20 pages of comments and watched reviews on YouTube and have decided this product is not for me.
I have Q an OLED tv and don't believe that Glass would serve as a worthy exchange.
The picture quality on Q with UHD is awesome and I also use an Apple 4K tv which is fantastic. I suspect Glass would be a backward step in tv image, angles and Q features.

Re: SkyGlass Awful
I was in the same position. Q with a LG C9. The shortcomings are not worth the all in one convenience unfortunately. Banding etc I just can't live with. Also, the off centre picture does drop off. Add the playlist frustrations and it's doesn't stack up. I'm going to buy a 55 LGC1 for the same price as the 65 glass, to be used for gaming room. That's where the C9 was heading
I've decided to go back to Q with the C9. Mega shame.

I would be getting ready to return the TV as well. Trust me you will be throwing the Sky Q remote through the scene after a week if you don't when any time you turn the q box on the tv goes off or when you click back and it jumps you back to the TV main screen.
As I've said a few times on the forum for the same price you can get a 4K TV with better viewing angles, a more pleasing image, especially in HDR and an atmos soundbar that's better than what the glass offers.plus it actually works properly with Q

It's weird how much you actually appreciate the simplicity of a tv that just works out of the box after experiencing glass for a week or 2.😂

This is exactly it - I shouldn't *need* to explain to the wife that if you try and record a movie on ITV, it most likely won't be there tomorrow, or that if you try and record XYZ on Channel 4, it could take a week to appear.
The unpredictability is the dealbreaker. If, when you added an item to the playlist, it said "Computer says no...", then I might be able to forgive it.

Sadly its not a nice experience - For me, it seems to only run at one very slow speed, and I have to sit there holding the button like a mug.

Something I found before returning mine was on ITV player fast-forwarding through the ads would sometimes make it crash. It's not the biggest issue on the ones at the start but if its one of the mid-show ones with the fact it doesn't remember where you were it's so annoying.
If Sky had actually thought about this they would actually have a system setup similar to when you setup Netflix, you goto the URL stated, it then links your sky account to your on-demand services account be it ITV player, 4OD etc and it gives you the paid membership to that service thus removing ads. Even if the SVOD platform only allowed the paid package to be activated on the Glass TV and Pucks and not on your phone, tablet or other streaming devices then they would have been getting a cut of the no advert fee Sky take and the user wouldn't have to put up with their bad advert system as the ads wouldn't even be there

Re: SkyGlass Awful
Like you I've been looking into whether I should get Glass and figure it is not the best product for me and my family... but jeepers the level of attack and defensiveness in some posts is astounding. I thought this nonsense was just between Apple and Android fanboys.
Whatever a person wants to spend their money is, up to them, but I'm grateful for the user experiences both good and bad as it has helped me make up my mind.
ps. I'm not saying Glass is awful or great... I don't have it, have not used it- but made a decision that I'm not getting it.

Re: SkyGlass Awful
To all those having initial problems..
Both my Sky Glass products (43 inch glass TV, and one Puck connected to 55 inch Sony Bravia 4k), have now started to settle down. There are still a few problems, like moving backwards and forwards through a chosen program), but they are not serious and I believe that they will gradually succumb to the efforts of Sky Software teams.
Sky Glass is proving to be an interesting product for me. I find myself not examining the TV schedules for something to watch, as there is so much interesting content displayed by the User interface. A picture can say a thousand things, and Glass displays so many things of interest across so many different platforms, that I am now watching subjects I was not aware of with Sky Q. Yes, Sky Q was going that way, but not completely, and I believe the Sky Glass product to be a starter in a new way of using TV.
So inspite of all the various teething problems (I was quite annoyed at my Puck not starting, but a replacement fixed this), I am getting a lot happier with my choice.
I do hope that those here who have serious problems with their Sky Glass TVs get a swift resolution, but in my opinion this is something worth a bit of a wait.

Re: SkyGlass Awful
@chriseeSame happened to me. I got a smart TV and Now TV. I've now got sky glass and can't really recommend it.
TV costs a lot. No recording facility
No My5 app. Lots of glitches. I'd advise just get a decent smart TV set up and now TV. Now TV a bit rubbish but you get some sky channels. I don't advise anyone to get glass until they improve it.
