Sky q mini box pixallation

I recently posted about my sky q mini box pixallating. This is still happening and my sisters is as well at another address. As I said before the software is q160 and I only have a main box and one mini box in the bedroom. The persons voice last night sounded like a robot until I pressed rewind and play again and seemed OK. I have read other posts that this is because of prime video added to the apps is this correct? Is sky still working on this issue? I was going to get an engineer but if it is a known problem would they be able to fix?

@clare198034I don't think it is anything to do with the Prime app, however as Prime streams from the internet via the main box so if your WiFi signal between the main and mini box is marginal there is a very slight possibility that if both Prime and playback are in use at the same time it could drop the signal level.

It would be worth contacting Sky and getting a Q booster to boost the signal between the main and mini box.

Re: Sky q mini box pixallation

Ok many thanks, also if I change the channel on the sky q box what does the hrz do so if I change from 80 hrz to 40 hrz does it make the sky q box weaker?

@clare198034Not really with the bandwidth at 80 there is more chance of it clashing with other 5Ghz channels 40 being narrower does not overlap as many channels.

Re: Sky q mini box pixallation

My 2.4 ghz is on channel 6 and my 5 ghz is on channel 48 I read that the 5 ghz channel should be far away as possible from the sky q. But if I change my sky q to c44 40mhz is this ok?

@clare198034Remember the 2.4 Ghz and the 5Ghz channels are not related to each other. If Sky is your ISP there is nothing to move away from as it will just make no differences. Moving 5Ghz on your router only makes sense if your home WiFi is on 5Ghz Ch36 in which case moving as far away, and that depends on the channels that your router will allow you to select. it is only worth changing the bandwidth to 40 if there is interference between your home WiFi and the Q mesh.

Re: Sky q mini box pixallation

I have bt broadband which is on the highest channel 48. So would changing the sky q to channel 40 or 44 be ok?
