Re: Sky lost picture

New mini box fitted ,same old story,same old SKY it seems.

One engineer stated connection to DVD player could cause problems?

Another stated too many discs (BT) could be blocking signal??

Dont know whether coming or going with SKY,do know it is abysmal service, and all for £100 a month!!

@No+listings+avail

So it's a mini box? A vital piece of info missed out there....

Chances are it's either too far from your main box, in which case the engineer should simply have positioned a Sky Q booster between the main box and the mini box.

Or it could well be your home wifi 5ghz network of disks is clashing with the 5ghz mesh that connects the mini box to the Sky Q box. On your main Q box, go down to Settings but don't press Select. Instead type 0 0 1 Select to open the hidden menu. From there you can change Sky's 5ghz channel. If it's 36, change it to 44 and press Confirm. Give it 10 mins and see if that helps.

Re: Sky lost picture

Thanks for info, no didn't miss out mini box as main box loses  picture.

Do actually have booster between boxes,as you say BT discs might be sending picture haywire ,but how come on HDM1 2 is it SKY Deutschland???

Even SKY had never come across this before...should be Cambridge!

@No+listings+avail  That is not Sky doing that it will be your TV identifying HDMI 1 as Sky Deutschland, Sky has no control over what your TV does that is why the adviser couldn't help.

There will be a way to edit the HDMI name, but you need to look at your TV's user manual to do this, Sky won't fix that as it's not their problem, it's yours.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.
