My mini box kept losing connection, engineer gave us new box and set 2.4 off on both boxes as 5ghz signal was good. Box will jump from sky 2.4 to wifi signal 2.4. So I turned mine off and set 5ghz to the 80z setting and so far it has been more settled. I have skyQ box on a smart socket as odd times it freezes, I just then tell echo turn off sky then on and it reboots all working. I have to use this as rest of house not savvy but they can do this easy method.

Hi so glad to read I am not losing it. Like most I have no issues with other wireless internet dependent devices but have daily internet issues. This has only happened in the past few months so I am wondering if there is a bug with the recent firmware upgrade introducing the new recording menus via SKY Q.

I've had sky since it started and thought that as i just bought a 4K tv this would be a good move to upgrade ( not a good move) - it ran fine for a while then i had issues with the main box after a month or two not locating the HDMI connectivity, arranged for a engineer to be called (this was during Covid lockdown 1st time) therefore had to have him outside and expalianing through a open window, but could'nt resolve the issue and therefore replacred the main box and said if happens again it is the TV's HDMI!! this was new and only 3 months old ? I then reinstalled the whole thing again - main box, booster and mini box..........................worked fine and then
Started having issues with main box and mini box connectivity issues, first the main box overnight every day so i've had reset and remove the ethernet cable and plug back into hub (everytime) and it picks up on another users sky hub (i'm with BT) and then i have to reset the booster and the the mini-box. I called Sky and they were useless - went through the reset and then they sais as i don't have sky broadband they can't resolve and need an engineer which was over 10 days but if i paid i could have one sooner?
It sort of rectified itself, but i still have the mini-box issues but as my contract is up in february 2021 i'm just going to have the main box and reduce my bill down or even get rid of all together as you can get BT package for £60 with all the sports and films and record or even NowTV

Hi. What are the boosters and where do I get one?!
thanks

The boosters are from Sly sky suprisingly... they give them out for free because they know of the issue... you have to however pay the shipping fees which is £5 or £10..

Mine is about the same 11 foot away ish.. not been too bad just annoyed it takes another socket in mybhouse and on the staircase of all places. Not ideal.

I have constant problems with my tv since "upgrading"! Intermittent signal losing connection to mini box at various times in the day. Sky useless at helping as go through the reset which i have done numerous times and lasts for 10 mins. Very frustrated, wish I had left the old boxes in or moved provider, shocking service but can't get to speak to anyone to even resolve it ....

My mini box constanly is dropping wifi conection the amount of times this happens a day is unbelievable ive tried everything on day one the engineer gave us a booster as signal not getting to mini box . I then brought booster up to bedroom and connected a cat cable to it still does it tried cat cable from hub yo mini box no different sometimes wish i stuck with old system and their little boxes as nevee had problem with it

You do need to turn off 2.4gz on all boxes and use 5gz as Sky box will jump to other network if signal drops. Sometimes updates will put it back on. Even if you use ethernet sky box sends out wifi
09 Jan 2021 01:14 PM
So how do you do this then
09 Jan 2021 01:22 PM
Put onto settings but dont open, then press 001ok and it will bring up engineer menu, then you can turn off network 2.4

I am in the exact same position. I resisted getting sky Q because I had a good set up with the old sky hd and magic eye sensors in every room. But I decided to take the plunge and "upgrade" to sky q. I really wish I had stayed with the old system...
I have 3 sky mini boxes and I can not watch a programme on any of them! They are constantly dropping out and knocking off, I have been on the phone to sky and had 2 "engineer" visits but am still having the problems. I never had problems with my wifi before I got Sky Q! I am wondering if I was to buy a decent gaming router would this solve the problem?
Has anyone else on this feed bough a really good gaming router?
