Sky Q Mini Box Faults

Hi i have problems with my Sky Q Mini Box Fault I keep getting connections messages so am forced to reset my boxes but I hard wired from my router to my sky q box it was great for an few days but then started getting these Sky Q Mini Box Faults.

does any body else have these problems I was wondering could it be the internet as it happens in evening when most people goon internet.

do I need an new mini box?

Are all your Q boxes connected by Ethernet (to your router)?

just the main sky q box is hardwired cable to router the sky q mini box is wireless signal from sky main q box

Hi @RiverbraidHarry 

Have you tried a Network reset on the mini?

Network Reset found in Home - Settings - Setup - Network.
Highlight Status and then select Reset on the right hand side. Follow instructions to connect to main Q box by WPS.

You will be asked to press the WPS button on your main Q box (not the mini)

Hi @RiverbraidHarry 

Only other thing I can suggest is to reboot your main Q box and then when this is completely back and running reboot the mini.   See if this gives a better connection.

To reboot press Standby on your Sky Q remote (if the box responds to the remote), and then switch off and unplug at the mains.
Wait at least 30 secs and then Plug back in and switch your Sky Q box back on at the mains.
Wait for the on screen instructions to disappear and the front led to turn Amber. Then wait for 30 secs before you press Home on your Sky Q remote or if this is not working press the standby button on the front of the Q box (Amber led)

note: some features may take up to 5 minutes to return.

I keep turning off main box at electricity socket at mains and do same for mini box wait for them to reset they come ok but then same problem about 30 mins later is wonder if fault with mini box do I need new one.

Hi @RiverbraidHarry 

Any chance you can temporarily try the mini with a TV nearer to the main Q box?

Could be a connection issue due to some WiFi interference.

yes is good picture on the living room tv is just bedroom tv it has fault on sky q mini box.

I have lots of smart plugs and lights using WiFi but only 2 lights on the others not turn off

What did you mean when you said good picture on TV in living room?

Did you try the mini there or is that your main Q box and TV?

Yes OK.

what I suggested was to try the mini at a location nearer to the main Q box.

Just to check if it will work with a better WiFi connection.   Obviously you need to temporarily move the TV and mini and get it as close as you can to the main Q box.

 

If it will work closer it is a connection problem and not a fault with the mini.

See I have an booster as well between the sky q main box and then in room next to bedroom I live in small flat so should be ok as have good WiFi signal as use iPad no problems with it, is just sky q mini box think need new mini box
