Is there a new update coming out soon? Does anyone know
All I know is that it might include the BT sports app being installed

Broadband is pretty reliable these days. I don't think that's much of a risk. The bigger issue for me is - you have to have that TV. No ta.
There's many people who still have broadband supplied by their phone cables.. I'm a fair distance from my phone cabinet so my broadband speeds and reliability suffers as a result.

Re: Sky Q 180
@Super+Anthony anyone who does know will,be undera NDA so cannot tell you. Sky are very tight lipped about future upgrades. Not heard BT sports is in the offing if it was and the agreements were in place it would be on the new Glass system and it isn't.
65inch Sky Glass, 3 Sky Streaming Pucks, Sky Ultrafast + and Sky SR213(white Wifi Max hub) main Wifi from 3 TP-Link Deco M4 units in access point mode

Re: Sky Q 180
I don't trust the glass at present and I will be waiting 6 months at least
I wonder if Sky has put in place what would happen if broadband went down, you would be without anything. They are risking a lot and is a massive gamble

Re: Sky Q 180
@Super+Anthony Before they start dishing (excuse the pun) the next update they need to fix the problems with Q170 which has resulted in customers with the V1 Q box still being back on Q160.

@Super+Anthony if the internet goes down then the Glass TV has an aerial socket and a freeview tuner as a back up.
You could say the same about Q if your box stops working or your dish has a problem
I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

Re: Sky Q 180
I agree that most people have pretty robust boradband connections these days, mine has been unuseable probably 3 or 4 days in total over the last 10 years.
But I still think Sky have mad a mistake with Glass by not mandating a minimum line speed to ensure there is enough headroom while someone is trying to watch in HD in one room, UHD sport in another while one teenager is trying to game online and the other is hoping to complete YouTube. 😆
If you want BT Sport Ultimate via BT TV through their TV box (not the app), your handback threshold has to be a minimum of 44Mbps otherwise you can't have it.
I am very jealous of all those with FTTP, or even a 50Mbps+ FTTC connection, but all FTTC connections are contended and throughput can be less. I think at peak times, some people may find they have bitten off more than their connection can handle over the coming months.

Sky offer 4G failover on their business broadband product, and BT has it for domestic connections on the higher tiers of Halo.
BT Halo 3+ Ultrafast FTTP (500Mbs), BT Smart Hub 2

Re: Sky Q 180
Me too. I'm over 1km from mine with FTTP a distant dream. 30Mb tops.
but it's not unreliable.

Re: Sky Q 180
@TimmyBGood If Sky Q worked reliably on 4G that's a good idea ! 😁
