Re: Sky HDR
@Kev230261 , very true. 5 year old technology. Cannot even get UHD off minis and 20 hours of documentaries...HLG years late.

Re: Sky HDR
@Piesarus it always made me laugh when I saw the advertising "sky belive in better" as they clearly don't.
First Downgraded HD picture quality and now this for me i made the moto "sky belive in crapper" as i feel more then ever now that this is clearly an more accurate description when it comes to sky.
Disappointed that warner renewed its contract with sky and kept HBO max out the UK but I am I am also interested in what Viacom CBS will do with CBS all access and its rebrand and international launch but the kicker will be if it supports 4K HDR as well. I am hoping it would like see shows like macgyver and s.w.a.t be pushed onto it for a selling point and that be one less reliance on sky.
That just leave some of the HBO and warner shows. Mostly the arrow verse and the odd HBO drama which warner put straight to stores straight after so it could help strengthen my position to leave sky. Sky remember your a want NOT a need. Also most of the sky own productions not been that great. Their co productions been good but not their own. I was hoping 2020 I might of had more streaming options but still got to the end of the year. Also in December I go out of contract so a few factors including on how long i wait for this V3 box and streaming options will play on any decision I make with sky.

Re: Sky HDR
@gems+151 wrote:@Haggisbasher so your paying 25pounds for delivery of a box of less storage than you have already. Of course you subscription would stay the same why would it be different lol you would have probably been able to upgrade your box for free once the upgrade program went live. As now your account will change to reflect a 1tb box if you decided to upgrade again once the 2tb boxes are available you would probably have to pay again as Im pretty certain the upgrades will be free for like the like storage
Well done @Haggisbasher at least you didn't take @gems+151 advice to get a V3 2TB box.
How do you know that his account will change to reflect a 1TB box if his subcription is not changing @gems+151
All Sky boxes are listed in the equipement section of My Sky Ive had Sky Q for 4 years but still got my white Sky+ box you know the one with the 80 GB of storage space still listed in the equipement section

Re: Sky HDR
@Piesarus wrote:@JOHNGALLEY SkyQ PVRs (indeed any modern PVR) should not be treated as an archive device. The reason is simple - if the box dies (and they all will at some point) then your archived recordings will die with it. Therefore the size of disk storage is an irrelevance. Record, watch, delete. The upgrade is the ability to watch programmes in HDR. I'm increasingly unclear why you have Sky as you never appear to have a good word to say about it.
@Piesarus Totally agree with "the size of disk storage is an irrelevance" I've got endless hours of F1 Races in 4K obviously the drive can fail at anytime I don't have the V1 2TB box so won't lose my recordings that way but disk do fail so your Record, Watch, Delete makes sense.
I'll probably get round to delete unless the Sky Q box beats me to it.

For those who don't know the hardware version of their Sky Q box by heart, press Home on your Sky Q remote, then select Settings followed by System info. Check your Hardware version, then use the list below to see whether it supports HDR.
Sky Q 2TB boxes:

32B206 (yes)
32B0xx (no) My Box so angry with sky I was told when I paid for it that it was HDR Ready for the Service if they dont offer replacement I will be seeing them in court for mis selling it
Sky Q 1TB UHD boxes:

Re: Sky HDR
@best+of+the+best still you make no sense. But why take less storage and pay sky for the privilege of removing your storage. Your sky+ will show on your account as that is bought and owned fully by you

Re: Sky HDR
Hi @Kei+M
Would you imagine Sky will contact all of us with incompatible boxes to offer a resolution?
Thanks in advance.
