Re: Sky HDR

@Yorkiecherry  how can it be disgusting your box was made before HLG as a standard was even available. That's like saying it's disgusting apple made the iPhone X with a wireless charging capability but not the iPhone 5. the technology wasn't available mainstream at the time

@Chrisee  @rscott

No I disagree. The box swap didn't entirely sort the issue. Still have occasional pixelation. And this box loses Internet connection regularly, unlike the v2 one I had. So really just swapped one problem for another. I would have thought I should have had a v2 swapped for another v2, but engineer said the v1 was the "only 1 on the van."

So yes. I still feel shafted thanks.

Re: Sky HDR

@Vissy  if your TV and box are definitely compatibile then search using voice search as the HDR is only available on catchup. Out of interest what TV do you have and can it receive hlg or just hdr

Re: Sky HDR

@gems+151  I can only speak for Samsungs and say that those sets capable of receiving HDR-HLG have been updated, if not for the TV apps for HDMI devices aka Roku / Amazon

There's a known issue with the v2 and a very small number of TVs, so Sky swap it for an alternative model if the TV is one of those.

My box and TV are compatible but I'm still getting the old Sky Q box firmware (vQ112). Tried updating and still stuck on old firmware. Do I just need to sit it out and wait for the update?

There is no firmware update required or one avaialble. You have the latest Sky Q firmware.

You need to search manually or with voice to find the programmes, then download and play the UHD ones.  If you have a HDR capable Sky Q box and TV, the Sky Q box will play the downloaded UHD programme as HDR, if not it will play the downloaded UHD progarmme as UHD (not HDR)..

No - the firmware you have is the right version. If you've got anything but the v1  2TB box ( silver trim on front, no external power supply)  and you can view UHD  content, then it should play the few HDR titiles.

Re: Sky HDR

Yes I was asking this 🙂  Hats off again to the member who spotted today's HDR-HLG programs but how do we find them?  Ok if we know the Titles but not if we don't know - anyone please?

Re: Sky HDR

@rozel I get that Samsung have updated some models but pre 2016 model TVs probably not that's on Samsung forums too and don't forget some people by the earlier model TVs when the current models come out so granted you may have bought the TV in 2016 but you might actually have a 2015 model the ku6000 model is nearly 4 years old now

Re: Sky HDR

@bob1234   Not sure you can rely on the Harware Version in Settings - the absolute perfect way is to look at the label on the bottom of the Q box itself.  My V3 box still shows I have a 1TB box, albeit a V2 one.

@rozel  Good idea but there is no label on mine but as it is a 2TB V2 (external power box) it should be compatible.

Re: Sky HDR

@gems+151 It's a Samsung Qe65q9fn. I'm fairly confident it can display hlg over hdmi. I assumed I needed the newer Sky Q firmware for the HDR.

Re: Sky HDR

@Rhonny  Rhonny, apologies if this has already been stated (I'm scrolling back from page 48 of this thread to where I last was around page 31) but for me there is no Sky Nature in the channels under Sky Catch Up.

Hdr today

Has the udate for hdr happened yet, i don't think it has as my sky q 2 tb box still says uhd.

@Vissy there is no firmware upgrade required  Q112 is the current release.

However you have to download the three series which currently are not on the catch up menus - the channels dont technically launch until, noon but there are barkers running on ch114 and ch130 in antcipation. The shows can be only be found from search currently.
