Re: Sky HDR

@Tdazza

The UHD HDR content to download is under Catch Up, Sky Channels, Sky Nature. I've not looked for the channels yet, but there's no broadcast HDR on the Sky Nature channel to the best of my knowledge.

Anyone know how to update, I've gone into settings a couple of times, checked for update and it's downloaded something and reset the box but it hasn't updated, can't see Sky Nature or Docs ? Thanks

Sky Nature and Sky Docs launch later on today.

"We would also expect Sky Sports to begin HDR live transmissions, once sporting fixtures return to the schedules." I hope so, please we've been waiting so long for this. I started a HDR post in July 18!

I wouldn't put too much trust in that article - it can't even get the facts about which boxes support HDR right.

Re: Sky HDR

I lie, I've found it via voice search, seems my menus are still not updated but I can see the Gangs of Lemur Doc, wonder if there is any file size difference between standard UHD and HLG....

Not seeing HDR this morning

I think I have the v1 2tb box. Model number 32B0xx

I read that all 2tb boxes should receive HDR but doesn't seem to be the case.

The v1 boxes don't support HDR - but several news reports (eg Forbes)  wrongly claim they do.

Re: Sky HDR

Big failure by Sky following on from the Disney debacle. I only pay £1400 a year to Sky. Little or no comms, other than something in the post but they know I have a v1 box... & this is it, their flagship technology statement on the future.  My TV is a Sony KD55850C and fully capable of HDR...,.Why is Disney/Netflix/Amazon content better direct with them ? I would like Sky to say what they are doing about old boxes that cannot generate the content that you are paying for. Dis enfranchised I think they call it...  no real drama bit like the Atlantic channel.... (other than gangs of London)

Lemurs gets me 4k but no HDR according to the TV

Hmmmmm

That's correct. You've got the v1 box which can't support HDR.

Re: Sky HDR

Will there be an upgrade path for those longterm customers who have 2TB V1 boxes?

I read somewhere yesterday that Sky weren't planning any live sport in HDR untl the Olympics next summer. Only time will tell I guess.

Yes, but it's not in place yet. It's been delayed by COVID19. That's why they're launching with only a very small amount of HDR content.

Re: Sky HDR

@Josh+Bruce  does your TV supprt HLG HDR and that goes for.you and everyone not all TVs are capable of the  HLG format. So check that if your not getting the HDR as there has been reports of the V2 box getting HDR

The check which Sky Q box you have webage has been updated with HDR information;

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/check-which-sky-q-box

The important part from that it now officially states the Sky Q V1 box is not capable.

Also an FAQ about Sky Q HDR is here;

An interesting little bug affecting Samsung TVs is mentioned.

The article wrongly claims that boxes with an external power supply (the V2) won't do HDR. So I wouldn't put too much trust in the rest of it.
