Re: Sky HDR

@hudsonk  do you 100% have a HLG compatible TV though. You may have hdr10 and even Dolby vision but not HLG

Re: Sky HDR

Thanks I will wait

Its stupid there is no means to transfer recorded content from one box to another (still, as far as I know) so any changeover needs to be planned and handled for series links etc etc

@Tdazza there will only be one file which triggers HLG if the box and tv support it if not it plays in SDR which is why Sky are bothering with HLG rather than needing multiple files required if you use HDR10 or the other formats. Getting both HDR and SDR looking goid off a single source is not quite so simple as people believe.

Re: Sky HDR

I've checked my tv Samsung Q60r and this is the base line QLED and is HLG supported so time will tell, just waiting on the download to allow to view. But will be interested if it will work for me as I have a Philips Hue Sync Box pass through so will need to check that supports HLG

I am firmly in the don't know camp. I watched Gang of Lemurs and it was impressive picture quality however I have no idea if I am getting HDR I have a 2TB V2 box and a Sony TV that has an HLG option in the settings but there is no indication that am watching HDR.

It may just be a Good quality UHD picture.

Re: Sky HDR

Indeed -- it appears to do just fine on AppleTV 4K in HDR mode on BBC The Planets
