@Reniboy and @MaxieMax - Hi guys, I got a new M1 Macbook Air this morning and i've been using Sky Go with no issues all day. I migrated my files and apps from my old Mac and applied any updates. Then i opened Sky Go and had to install Rosetta and after that, it's been fine. Might be worth giving it another go and see what happens.

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
It does not work. You can run it using Rosetta2 but it does not connect to the Sky servers currently so there is no other way to watch Sky on the new macs.

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Thank you that's annoying.
Is there any word from Sky on when it's expected that this will be supported please?

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Unfortunately I'd suggest that's the cost of being a (very) early adopter.

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Haven't bought one yet 🙂
You're right but equally they don't just drop these things in Apple stores on the 17th.
Presume someone from Sky can comment on when a supported version is on the way.

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
It's something we want to do and we're investigating ways to do it but we can't commit to anything concrete at this stage because it requires some of our suppliers to agree to it first. We'll let you know when we have more info but there's nothing in the immediate pipeline sadly,
Thanks,
Kei

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Judging from some early reviews with real-world software, no-ones battery would last until the end of a movie ; )
If even Adobe products don't work properly with Rosetta 2 yet, there's not much hope for other apps...

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
It is frustrating as it is literally the only thing that doesn't run. I have a new M1 macbook pro and as a designer use the full adobe suit as well as affinity. I do like to have sky running away in the top corner while working and it is the only thing that I have had an issue with since migrating to the new machine.... Worked fine on previous intel macbook pro with Big Sur....
For me it just means I have to have it running on my Ipad.
The new M1 Macbook pro is blisteringly quick, so its a small price to pay to be honest.... but will be happy to see the app updated so it works.

Richard thanks for that so that suggests it works OK via Rosetta?
Presumably you didn't do anything special you just installed the Sky Go app and launched it?
Do you have any perception of CPU usage and any issues or slowdown at all please?

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Interesting.... it may just be a migration issue... you know the score there is always something... I have had to rebuild my spotlight index for outlook as well. Thanks @richardford77 i'll give it another go.

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
@hutchingsp yeah i didn't do anything fancy, just ran the rosetta install when prompted and after that completed i opened sky go and it worked. I didn't notice anything regarding the CPU usage although i wasn't really looking at it to be honest. All I was thinking was that the Macbook Air was lovely to use!

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Yes i can confirm after the migration to new M1 Macbook pro and the advice of @richardford77 i did a complete removal of sky go using an app cleaner so it got all the related files... a fresh install and all works great! Thanks Richard if you hadn't pointed this out i would have been waiting for an update.

Re: Sky Go Mac M1 Support
Yep, happy to confirm the above. We were testing on prototype hardware and we were unaware that the production units had been updated. From testing the production units it looks like it works but please let us know if you run into any issues.
Thanks,
Kei
