Re: Sky Glass Delivered

Could there be some sort of CPU throttling going on? Getting too hot when loading the system with too many tasks in a short space of time.

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

I did expect to see more reviews here and on YouTube although they might come in the next few days but reviews I have read seems to suggest there are a few issues.

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

I been spending time working it all out today tbh, had to work so couldn't have a proper look until this evening.

I think overall it's been worth the change. I've got 3x pucks that are much better than the minis.

The tv I've had no issues with. The sound is good, it's replaced a Samsung sound bar for me. You'll want to play with the brightness and contrast at first. I think the default values are a bit off. But it's something to fettle at some point. Just need to get used to the new surroundings.

The bits that are taking my time is navigating around the new UI! It's looks great but is taking some getting used too.

the issues others have mentioned, I hit like the remote not pairing with a puck. So I just powered it down and did it again.

The voice control did go on another puck, but again a hard power off sorted that out and now it's all working flawlessly.

I have to say I would've got this setup if I couldn't hard wire it all though. I'm looking to add more pucks in the future. And this is going to be resource intensive, especially if you have children and almost everything is on at once!

I'll happily take my sky dish down very soon!

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

Went to have a nosy at the friends system who had UI slowdown earlier.

wasnt as bad as he made out but def slower to move around than what I have on Q.

No messing with the pic settings yet but personally I think the auto pic setting is just ok. All down to personal

prefence as another friend thought it looked great.

have to say the design has really grown on me and sound is good.

his broadband is def not up to the job though. The pucks just wouldnt perform when watching the football.

Sky tech support calling him tomorrow to

go through issues he is having.

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

Yeah I had a play with picture setting then put those back to auto. I have now turned off the auto backlight though. As it was making it too dark at times. But I had done this on my Samsung too that it's replaced.

if you can go hard wired that's definitely the better way to go

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

have any of you tried unplugging the glass tv and then watch content on a puck to see if it still works?

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

Just had my Sky Glass (S) and a puck delivered. I didn't get them to set it up as my plan is to use the Sky Glass TV in bedroom and the puck on our Sony KD-55AF8 in the living room.

Unfortunately I can't set up just now as the other half is still in bed and I've got to go to work for the day. I'll take some more pics of what's in the boxes later for those that have been wanting to see.

For now here's how they left it for me. (wouldn't let me take it from them at the door . They had to place it and take photos of it before they could leave. I then had to speak to someone on the phone to confirm I was happy to not have the install done for me).

If there is any particular photos you want of it let me know. I'll try and take a few that have already been asked for on here as well.

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

TV is here and on. When it cycled through its update and went to the home screen, there was no sign of the TV Guide or any way to view live TV. I switched off at the mains and rebooted and they're up now.

Going to have a play.

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

How does it work if you record a programme halfway through? When you go watch it, is from where you left it or does it start from the beginning?

Re: Sky Glass Delivered

So it's arrived! Looks huge in the box but I'm guessing there is a lot of padding in there. The TV on the wall is 55 for comparison.

Got my morning standup calls to get through then will be unboxing and getting it turned on. Anything anyone want's to know just @ me.IMG_1263.jpeg
