How does the playlist work?
Can anyone with Sky Glass give us a detailed explanation of the playlist
Does everything I add from the TV Guide have 12 months expiry even if playback comes from an app ie iPlayer etc...
What counts towards your 1,000 hours?
When a series is added can you mark things as watched?
When a series is added can you remove individual episodes from the playlist?
Adding YouTube VODs to the playlist, are they in their own section?
Any other details would be great 👍

Re: How does the playlist work?
@Annie+UK I did like the sound of this playlist from what people are saying I'm not so sure now especially if I try part recording something like corrie and it gives 60 years worth of it. I'd just want the damn ep.

The whole system hinges around this playlist and is a showstopper for me if it does not give much more than what I can access on my existing TV with iPlayer, ITV Hub, All4 etc... having everything listed in one place is nice but I'm ok without it ATM

Re: How does the playlist work?
It is a bit of a mess to be honest.
My wife added last nights episode of Eastenders but ended up with a list of episodes from yesteryear!! When she did select the right episode she was directed to iplayer, which was a bit long winded.
There is no "Watched" tag and I have not managed to remove an individual episode, like last night's Eastenders.
I thought the "cloud"based 1000 hours would include programmes you have selected within the guide but it seems to transfer you to the respective app.

Re: How does the playlist work?
It's simply app based. Nowhere near as good as sky q method

Re: How does the playlist work?
I have just posted this in another thread but I think there has been a lot of misleading information on here concerning Playlist.
I have been saying this for ages since the Sky Glass announcement. I don't believe there is ANY cloud recording with Sky Glass. Where did people get the 1,000 hours stat from? It's not featured anywhere in Sky's materials apart from some rogue customer service Tweet.
As far as I understand it, all Playlist does is bookmark stuff and then takes you into the corresponding apps. Try it on a non-Sky channel and press + on something that is airing now and see what happens.
Programme rights are a nightmare for cloud based PVRs and I do not believe Sky have them hence the Playlist. If people are expecting a Sky Q or Sky+ experience, I think they will be sorely disappointed.
All content is merely housed in the respective apps, at least for the PSBs. Sky content might be available in the cloud but that's it.
Anyone able to prove otherwise?

Re: How does the playlist work?
The idea of the playlist was what sold me the concept of Sky Glass. Why would we set something to save from the likes of ITV and be left with a sub standard version from the App? Also what happens when you want something like Aussie Gold Miners on Quest? Where is it going to get that from as discovery plus charges I think?

Re: How does the playlist work?
Don't know if it's just the newness of it ,but after just having a quick play about with the playlist I'm a bit frustrated with it so far. If you weren't used to Q you might love it perhaps, but initially I'm hacked off with it - eg programmes you add from the traditional terrestinal channels like BBC, ITV and C4 are played back via their catch up services - eg iPlayer etc. As othes have noted this clogs playlist up with multiple episodes from numerous series rather than just the most recent episode.
Also it appeared to be easier on Q to seperate programmes already recorded with programmes that were due to be recorded - to me the view of the playlist seems to mash everything together making it harder to pick out programmes you can watch from ones still to be aired..

Impossible as we have Sky+ 🙂 Sky Q is not for this household 🙂

Re: How does the playlist work?
Bottom line is, if you get sky glass, you're gonna have to get used to the fact your traditional way of recording/saving programmes is gone. Just watching the news there, and you can't sort of press plus on that and save it for later. Unless it's on an app, be it itv, or sky, then you can't save it. You can literally only have programmes that are app based. So we either get used to that, or send it back. With their being no hard drive, I can't see how this will ever change.

Re: How does the playlist work?
still got my trusty sky +, was looking to upgrade to glass but seeing the issues especially "playlist" and "stuttering" I might pass and stick with my discounts!

Re: How does the playlist work?
Here's a thought. This year free of fast forwarding ads? How is that even possible if you're not actually watching the version of the programme from the live feed? If it's all just being pulled from different apps, you still have to watch itv ads, and surely on demand sky programmes wouldn't have ad breaks in them. Are we talking about the ads they usually show before a programme like on sky go etc? Rather than fast forwarding ad breaks?
