SR203/204 routers with TP-Link Powerline

Hi

Currently have an ER115 router on Sky Superfast package.  I use TP-Link power line adapters to provide broadband to my PC, main Sky Q box and Nvidia shield.

If I upgraded to Ultrafast (not Ultrafast plus), would the power line adapters still work with the new SR203 router which is provided with the Ultrafast package?

@Slider09 depends on the type of Ultrafast you can get at your address. There is a known issue between some powerline adapters and G.fast signals used when Ultrafast is delivered over a copper line the frequencies used cause interference and the line can drop.

There is nothing thst can affect Ultrafast over fibre to the premises connection AFAIK..

My experience with AV1200 powerlines is they are perfectly adequate for Ultrafast but anything faster they just can't cope especially if you have more the two in the network.

How do I know what cable is being used? It's just the basic Ultrafast, not Ultrafast Ultra.

If the results list FTTP - not FTTP on demand which is different - you are likely to be on fibre. If there is an entry for G.fast that is the technology you will be getting. If you post the results remove your address first.

That means that the broadband is fibre directly to the home and is the best and that TP-Link Powerline homeplugs are fully compatible with that method of connecting broadband system in the home. The only deciding factor will be how good the electrical home wiring is in your home on how fast they will operate on the local LAN wired connection PLC, eg: usually operates at about 100Mbps or faster on the LAN with powerline technology.
