Been with Firefox a long time with no problems. Recent update of Firefox. Now cannot login to SKY a/c on FF. Only SKY, all other links on tool / task bar work, only SKY is access denied. Contacted SKY team, helpful, line / router all OK. No VPN active. Have deleted SKY link, cache, History, cookies etc and reinstalled - same issue. SKY login works on Edge though, or, via e-m client. Problem is solely with SKY log in and solely Firefox. SKY unable to find an issue.
Message is

You don't have permission to access "http://skyid.sky.com/signin/7b613a2768747470733a2f2f7777772e736b792e636f6d2f272c623a2768747470733a2f..." on this server.

anyone any thoughts? SKY cannot locate the issue. Posted on Firefox forum as well.

Excellent.
Just a slight tweak.
Your exact letters in your post convert to a URL link on Firefox. If one uses this link, as it appears on the screen above, it goes to SKY homepage. Bookmarking this - again access denied.
However, if you correct the URL to just manually inserting the letters exactly and not clicking on what has become a link on Firefox post - it works.
I have tried typing the letters exactly as a URL in URL box and not used the letters-converted-to-URL-link link as it appears in your post.
I have done this x3, restarted, and done it again and that works.
Interestingly using the link as a link above goes to SKY homepage - that doesn't work - access denied.
But typing the URL as you exactly wrote it manually, it goes to login page - which is a different aspect than before: - for example, in the old version the sign in box was top right, using your manual method the sign in box is to the left mid screen. A subtle but then obvious difference.
So you have solved it friend, just ensure anyone else actually manually types the URL into the URL box as you have written it.
Hence one might conclude that the SKY homepage on Firefox is a broken linkage whereas your solution direct to sign in works. Presumably why when I used Yahoo mail as a link for sign into Yahoo mail - again it worked. Both bypass SKY homepage as an access portal. Suggests, that on Firefox anyhow, the SKY homepage linkage is broken.
Well done and congratulations for solving an enigmatic mystery.
Thanks
Jeff

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
I have exactly the same problem. Only on Sky, and only on Firefox.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
Firefox is complaining about an attempt to login to a site using the insecure HTTP protocol, eg: use HTTPS and it should solve the issue.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
The URL is https, both for sign in and stating access denied.
As in https://skyid.sky.com/signin
so unless Firefox is doing something "underneath the bonnet" unseen by me, the http vs https wouldn't seem to be the cause as such.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
I cannot replicate the issue here with the latest release of Firefox on macOS or Windows with the URLs provided, eg: it always allow access and sign-on here to sky's sites.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
on Mozilla forum and also on SKY forum, you can find various similar posts to mine - scattered, individual over time and place. My posting here shows I can log in to SKY via a different bookmark in Firefox, but not to SKY and Yahoo mail from the tool bar bookmark on Firefox. I can accept that this bookmark is broken, however, when I deleted it and reintroduced it - it didn't work. I'll try again.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
so deleted bookmark and cache history etc.
Opened SKY via a different route.
Bookmarked and placed on toolbar
Again wouldn't open SKY - access denied.
Hence solely related to Firefox toobar as the bookmark worked - until I put it on the toolbar !
Bizarre

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
Ah Ha
an answer
1. The SKY homepage will not permit access from the toolbar.
2. But I put Yahoo mail (via SKY log in) onto toolbar as a bookmark - it works.
3. So I can access my e-mails on Yahoo via toolbar bookmark, but cannot access Yahoo mail via SKY log in, and then to Yahoo mail.
4. Hence logic dictates there is a fracture on SKY homepage to link to Yahoo mail - well for me anyhow.
5. So the solution then is to delete SKY homepage from toolbar, clear cache / history etc. The sign in to SKY via e.g. Google ordinary browse, bookmark Yahoo mail, then put on toolbar.
6. This does mean however to get to SKY account, one will have to use Google approach.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
I've had this exact problem since a few days ago.
I have observed in Firefox when you go to www.sky.com and click Sign in you get a URL in the top Firefox input field of :
If I go ahead and try to sign in at this point I get the access denied message.
If I manually strip back the URL to just:
and then attempt a sign in I am successful.
Incidentally the long hex string in the Access Denied message is the same as I get and it is in hex reprsentation of the ascii string:
{a:'https://www.sky.com/',b:'https://www.sky.com/'}
I've done a little web programming and this suggests to me that something about the way Firefox is packaging the query string (the extra characters in the URL after the "signin" is upsetting the code on the Sky server that is validating the server input. It wouldn't be hard for a Sky techie to have a look at how such input from a Firefox session arrives at the server and determine why it is being rejected.
On the other hand I might be barking up the wrong tree in the wrong forest...

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
Well my 'observation' was working a treat then I went back to sign in to actually do what I meant to start an hour ago and I got the access denied message using my work around.
Then I got it to work after closing Firefox and reopening it and then even that didn't work so there's obviously more to it which I will report here if I discover what it is.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
I was missing something very subtle that I had not noticed properly.
After manually stripping back the URL to just:
You should press enter, the page refreshes and the URL is now just as above. Attempting to sign in now is successful.

Re: SKY access denied on Firefox
update:
still working OK on my a/c. The second a/c works but once you put in the URL letters https://sky.id.sky.com/signin and reach log in - bookmark it then, before actually logging in. Then sign in. Otherwise if you sign in and then bookmark, it reverts to SKY homepage in which case you get SKY homepage and "access denied".
So.
1. delete old bookmark and cache history etc
2. type in the exact letters as above in URL box, (do not click what has become an automatic https link above.)
3. then arrow at URL box.
4. You reach signin page.
5. Do not sign in yet, but bookmark that page.
6. Then sign in.
7. On second a/c the page reverted to the old style, but the bookmark does work properly on several checks.
