Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?
Who are these oracles. Are they stooges for Sky? They constantly counter any genuine criticism from customers.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?
Have never paid more than £10 as always offered that at the begining of the season, no negotiation or calls needed, so they have doubled as was £18 and no offer. Also those of us in contract could not re negotiate and calling sky for me drew a blank.
I can't understand why you are happy with the increase for most of us. If you got a better deal then I'm happy for you, but please be aware that not all of us were as lucky.

Also I only watch F1. Don't want sky sports as nothing else really interests me, so £18 for F1 and £20 for everything makes it look even more like a rubbish deal.

Replies are generally factual IMHO.

I hadn't twigged that about the oracles.
Whilst it's much appreciated to have knowledgeable people helping out, sometimes the replies can come across as being a bit partisan.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?
I think by this point its fairly clear Sky will not be offering the £10 deal. Best I could get was all sports for £19, but I only really want the F1 so a non-starter. I think by now many fans will have got so used to Channel 4 that the £10 deal would have less uptake even if it came back.
I suppose one thing I would stick up for Sky on is the point on paying for little F1 over August. With a monthly subscription that is to be expected. It's like footie fans not having much in the way between May-August on Sky. Best way is to take a whole year look at it vs what it costs for that year.

@PandJ2020 , I've looked at the oracle requirements and I think that I and most people on this thread would be a better choice than the current lot. For one, I and others here want to stop people from getting ripped off by sky which shows our caring nature. The current oracles appear to treat others with contempt especially if they criticise their beloved masters at Sky.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?
In order to be 'ripped off', Sky would have to be taking more money from you than you had agreed to pay, or be giving you less than they had agreed to give you. That hasn't happened. So nobody is being ripped off.
Sky, as is their prerogative, decided not to discount the single channel F1 Sports subscription this year. Charging the usual (not increased) £18 single channel fee.
Presumably, they were happy with the take up at that price so didn't feel the need to discount it close to the start of the season like they have in previous seasons.
One of the Oracles roles is to ensure that answers given are factually correct, it's not their fault if customers don't like those answers.
(Incidentally, there are plenty of examples on here of Oracles criticizing Sky and their decisions when they don't agree with them)

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?
C4F1 really scooped Sky with the Verstapen 'gotcha'. He took it brilliantly. Obviously I wish him well and hope he will see it was a racing incident at the start of a defining race for Lewis who was always going to go that extra mile at Silverstone especially with the first big attendance for F1 since the 'vid. Okay Copse was probably the last corner a driver should consider a speculative move but that's F1 racing, which can be llterally death defying at times. Ultimately I think Max and Red Bull will get the upper hand.

No, none of the above. We're all just customers like yourself, giving our time voluntarily to help other customers.
- other sky customers who might well feel they might be paying above the odds.
I don't understand how anyone would feel they are paying above the odds. We're all paying what we agreed to pay when we negotiated our contracts. If that price was too high, don't agree to pay it.
Yes, in previous years Sky have discounted the F1 price. This year they didn't. I guess next year will show whether this year's policy was deemed successful from their point of view.
Maybe this year's policy decision was affected by the decision to suspend Sports subscription payments during the first lockdown of no live sport.

I'm not paying above the odds; I'm not paying for it at all, because the asking price is above the odds.

Very sensible. I'd do the same. You've avoided being ripped off, then.

Re: SKY F1 Offer 2021?
Yep - there's nobody forcing me to take them up on their offer of an entertainment package and I have plenty of other things I can do.
Sky's choice is whether they want to gain revenue for a service which they are broadcasting anyway, so their costs are fixed: suppose that have 10,000 subscribers at £18; if they drop it to £10, will they end up with 20,000+ subscribers?
I was also just looking at the idea of getting Sky Sports, which someone mentioned was £20, but:
- it seems to be £25 on my offers,
- I can't see what the content is; I'd like a list of the sports it covers, but it's all whizzy scrolly pictures, and
- it says you get all 8 channels, but F1 isn't listed there.
