Remove card details from Sky Store
Sky Store account created by a family member in error. I need the payment method removed but cannot see how to achieve this. Preferably I'd like the account,/SkyID deleted. Thanks

Re: Remove card details from Sky Store
This is something you will need to contact Sky about as nobody here can access these details:

Re: Remove card details from Sky Store
I've contacted them and they refused to delete my details, saying that they need to keep data of their previous customers (I've never purchased anything from them) - which is against data protection law.
They suggested that I can call them to have my payment details deleted but that means that I'd have to pay for the call.
I find it outrageous.

If you have a landline or mobile provider that gives you free calls then as long as you use an 03 number to contact Sky support on then the call wouldn't cost you a penny.

Re: Remove card details from Sky Store
Free minutes are limited to a particular number, why should I be forced to use them to call Sky to have my details removed?
To make things worse, I've just learned that Sky collected payment from my card even tough I didn't choose to buy any of their services. They collected the payment only because to set up an account one is forced to enter card details.
How is that justified? And do I need to also call them to have that refunded?

Re: Remove card details from Sky Store
Hi @aLater
If Sky have taken a nominal / trial payment - often £1 - to see if your card is valid, then this will be returned to you automatically
More usually - it will only show on your account as a pending item and will then drop off
Is that the sort of payment which has been taken ?

Not sure what you mean by this but I have called Sky in the past via an 03 number using my mobile and wasn't charged for the call.
