Re: Recordings stop before it’s end

Has happened to me too every night since Saturday while recording the evening sessions of the Darts on Eurosport.

It always stops recording before it finishes.

Same happens on ITV4 too with the Darts. What i used to do was record the next program or two after the Darts to make sure i didn't miss any, but why should i have to do this? Recording programs i have no interest in watching just so i don't miss the end of the Darts.

I don't have his problem at all with Sky Sports when the Darts are on. Even if the progam overruns by over an hour, it continues to record until the actual program finishes.

Can this be fixed?

@Darren+Pizzy  if ypur recordings are stopping before the scheduled end time, then a Planner Rebuild may resolve it.

If the recordings are stopping because the programmes have overrun their scheduled end time, then that's a matter for the broadcaster - ITV and Eurosport in your case. It's up to them to update the TV  Guide with the new end times. Eurosport are renowned for overruns.

Re: Recordings stop before it’s end

This happens with the BBC news at Ten every night. I have it on series link and it cuts off at least 5 minutes before the end of the programme.

Can this be looked into???

I think with the BBC news at Ten this would be because it very rarely finishes on time as it quite often it still on at 10.33 when the local news should have started at 10.30. Have you added extra time to your recordings to see if this fixes it for you ?

Thanks for this. I'll look into the extension on recordings now.

Re: Recordings stop before the end of the programme

Sky are colossal hypocrites here. Only tonight I recorded the live golf charity event with McIlroy Johnson etc.  Starved of real sport I looked forward to watching it only to discover the sky recording ended in the middle of the 17th hole.  Who are Sky blaming for that when it was their own Sky Golf channel.  All the millions in this company and they cannot be bothered to invest in the technology to fix this issue.  Too busy producing glossy packages that nobody wants. As my mother used to say up north - "they are fur coat and no knickers".  They should start focusing on getting the basics right.

^^ Sorry to confirm, but there are similar problems with the Formula One channel. It often has some of the worst quality programme guide data I've ever seen. Series links never settable, randomly disappearing mid-series forcing me to scour the EPG and manually set up all my recordings. This defeats the purpose of having a PVR in the first place! VideoPlus+ with a VCR was more reliable.

Hi John,

I'm contacting you regarding your feedback about the endings being cut off while recording programmes on Sky.

We investigated our Ed Stafford: First Man Out programme and found, that the programme had overrun in our schedule. We have now added extra checks to ensure that the timings are recalculated and double-checked whenever schedule changes are made in order to ensure that this does not happen again and that the programme play out in their correct time slots.

We'd like to apologise for this error and thank you for bringing this to our attention. It has been very helpful and helps us make sure, that we're providing the best experience for our viewers in the future.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your feedback with us and let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.

Kind regards,

Eliot

If you have a Sky+ box then you can change a setting so that all your recordings add extra time onto the end of them. I don't think you can do this via Sky Q so you might want to record the next program/film as well.
