Recording Sky Movies Premier
Much as I can record movies and replay them, those that originated on Sky Cinema are blocked. This seems unreasonable as they are not recorded from Cinema and should be treated as all others on Movies.

Re: Recording Sky Movies Premier
What's the error message when you try to record them ?
Which channels, specifically are you having problems with?
Do you have Sky Q? Or Sky+?

Re: Recording Sky Movies Premier
Sky Q. No error on recording. On replay from the recoded list, first a request for password, and then I am informed that I need to upgrade to Sky Cinema.

Re: Recording Sky Movies Premier
@southbarn Whilst you can record any content, you must have a valid subscription to the service it was recorded from to playback
sky movies premier is part of the cinema subscription

Re: Recording Sky Movies Premier
Thank you for prompting me to review my contract, my service and, as a consequence, extending my complaint to Movies in real-time.
My current contract is ‘Signature’. I have had Sky Cinema for some years and, with the present genres of new movies, rarely watch. Within the Sky Home screen, there are included two categories – TV Guide and Sky Cinema. I chose not to renew the contract for Sky Cinema.
Within the TV Guide there is the category, ‘Movies’. It is now clear that, whilst I can view channels such a Film 4, I cannot view any of the Sky movie channels.
So, my beef is, and this is yet again over the years, Sky marketing keep playing around with product names and definitions that cause me, and I suppose others, frustration, annoyance and an ever-increasing desire to switch it all off. A contract for Sky Cinema, should be for the product described as ‘Sky Cinema’ and not for access to Movies.

Re: Recording Sky Movies Premier
Sky Movies became Sky Cinema in 2016 but nothing has changed with regards to it being a subscription service. If you want the Sky Cinema channels they require an extra subscription and have done since 1991.
TCM, Film4 and the couple of others that aren't Sky branded do not require the Sky Cinema subscription and are either included in the basic subscription or free to air.

Yes, that would be why you don't have access to the Sky Cinema channels.
The TV Guide has always, shown all channels, whether you subscribe to them or not.

Also if you have SKY Q - hopefully you are already aware - the Home page and many other pages show content that may not be part of your subscription often being displayed to show customers what they may be missing and possibly to tempt them to 'upgrade' as well as content that might contain ads

Re: Recording Sky Movies Premier
All the responses only serve to reinforce my frustration.
I have never known a contract where the rebuttal is, ‘you need to know the history’. ‘It’s only a tempter to buy more services’.
There is an explicit product group called ‘Sky Cinema’. The Movies group contains channels not described as particular to Sky. If the channels were described as ‘Sky Cinem xxx’, I would have no gripe.
If I cancel a Sky Mobile contract, I doubt anyone would attempt to justify it cancelling other services, so why ‘Sky Cinema’.
I’ll sign-off with ….

Yes the headings in the TV Guide are just groupings of similar channels & bear no specific relation to subscriptions
I think many people would like to exclude channels they do not subscribe to or at least have them flagged in some way
