Reacher (on Prime)

Based on the Lee Child's novels, the Reacher series starts next month. I enjoyed the books so looking forward to seeing what Amazon can do on screen.

He is a huge fan of the novels, he just wasn't the right person to play Jack...far from it 🙂

I have been watching this it looks as though the main character has been cast more on appearing than acting abilities he certainly looks the part.

Still I am enjoying it although it is played straight it may be my warped sense of humour but I found it quite comical in parts.

Amazon say series one is included in the subscription so I assume there will be more, I hope if there are they are still included in the subscription and don't move to another subscription channel or become pay to view.

After watching it all, I really enjoyed how closely aligned to the book it was (as far as I can remember and slightly updated of course!)

The comical parts I feel broke it up a little and may appeal to a wider audience. I do hope there will be more and available as part of the Prime subscription.

Totally agree, this is the sort of person I picture when reading the books, not Tom Cruise! He is a little wooden, hopefully there will be a second series and he loosens up a little.

  I have never understood the " short " jokes made about Tom Cruise. He is about 5' 7" or 5' 8", there are plenty of other very well-known actors who are far shorter than he is. I get he doesn't measure up to the description of Jack Reacher from the books but he isn't short. I think the only reason this all started was because of the women he has been involved with who have been taller than him, that doesn't make short though.

Got to say this series is one of the best I have seen for a while.The dry rumour is just about right and the actor who plays Roscoe is really good, not seen her before in anything.

Enjoyed this a lot. The cast are very likeable and the action is well paced. Roll on season two!

Goes back at least as far as 1990

Nicole Kidman once mentioned that when filming Days of Thunder "They had me in really flat shoes, but you could still see I was taller than him. I'd prefer to be smaller, but I don't mind. I like the fact that he's one of the most famous actors in the world and can work with anybody - but he doesn't mind working with an actress who's taller." After their divorce, she joked "Now I can wear heels again". That film's Producer - Don Simpson - also couldn't resist a jibe: "I'll never put Tom Cruise down. He's already kinda short."
