Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

@Quoman7

The mini and the sky Q come set at 1080i not many would think of changing it to 1080p if this is what your suggesting? But I and others have run at 1080i & P and it sadly has not run any better etc.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Same here. Neither 1080i nor 1080p makes any difference.

And the fact that for all of us this problem suddenly occurred around the beginning of December seems to suggest it was an external change rather than any issues local to each of us.

@RobJames

I have moved all my equipment made no difference at all at least we have the main sky q and one hard wired mini working ok just the other 3 mini boxes that have the issue, should have a new router coming but Royal Mail seem to have misplaced it lol once that's connected then everything  has been replaced and moved so my personal opinion is still that it's a software issue.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

How many minis do you guys have running in your house?

I wonder if the number of boxes connecting has any impact on this.

I have 3 connected.

No I did have 4 connected originally but had one hard wired by sky just for piece of mind really but never had issues only the one that we had hard wired was a little further away and because the booster messed everything up we had it hard wired.  So I don't think it's anything to do with the number of boxes.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

There we go i just thought I would have a look at the channel feeds and I come across a new post she has listed photos and comments as the same as what we are having she said she has had 3 visits and still nothing. I told her to pop by to this feed and read up etc

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

@Anonymous  I have to admit I haven't seen a blue screen like Becky reports but I guess the issue could manifest in different ways for each house hold.

I can confirm that I too have also never seen the blue network error Becky has been getting

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

I'm getting really frustrated with the issue now I had connection issues with my mini box in the beginning of getting Q which affected live tv with the connection dropping and solved these by improving my set up, it's been rock solid for two years.

This pixel issue is something sky need to take ownership of and put right as it's making watching recordings/downloads unbearable which is a serious flaw.

Again I have no dropped connection from the main box to the mini box and live tv is flawless, sky have broken something and nothing I do will fix it.

I have commented on a similar thread on here where a sky employee said they would need to try and replicate the issue but implied it is more then likely still an issue with peoples set ups, I gave him an example of what to do to try to replicate it but since his post nothing has been said since.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

For anyone with a wireless setup, is your mini box connected over the 5 GHz network?

just read an article on sky q setup - it is old from 2016 - which explains that the sky q boxes stream over the 5 ghz network by default but can drop to the 2.4ghz which can then cause connectivity issues.

ive just gone reset the network connections on my main and mini and streaming is on the 5 ghz network - well at the moment it is, anyway

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Prior to the Sky engineer coming out a week ago. I had bother main Sky Q and mini box set to just 5Ghz and the issue with pixilation still occurred. When Sky replaced and setup my boxes a week ago they left both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz boxes ticked as they mentioned these didn't need changing. The issue seems to occur regardless of how these are set as far as I can see?...
