The new update has ruined my mini box

 

Pixelation issues are consistent and embedded into the recordings

 

Recordings will randomly stutter and will skip to different scenes 

 

Pixelation now present in live TV

 

Engineer coming out but already know it is a wasted trip

I also have reopened my case it was so much better Q150 I tried not to update but it eventually updated itself and now back to to square one.

Also getting pixelation on live TV, as well as recordings.

A couple of weeks ago, watching super Sunday, it got to the point of being unwatchable during the second game, full screen pixelation every few minutes. I unplugged both main q box and the mini, plugged them back in and within a few minutes it started again, so I unplugged both again, plus the router, this "fixed" the problem for a little while.

The router is a Sky ER110.

Really hope this gets sorted out.

@royston1974If it is live TV and on your main box it will be nothing to do with your router, however your dish could be slightly out of alignment and you should call Sky to come and sort it out.

UNLESS the dish has problems "seeing" the satellite due to tree growth etc OR you have a communal dish.

@bob1234 appreciate the reply the pixelation problem only occurs on the mini box, everything is fine with the main Q box.

The signal strength/quality is 70/90, so pretty decent.

 

Actually sat watching on the mini box at the moment, and it's been almost totally fine, just one moment when the picture froze for a second.. continued..froze for a second, and continued, no other issues since, and the 2nd half has started, so it's been nearly an hour.

@royston1974Unfortunately the signal strength means little and is only a measure at the main box, it looks as though the WiFi signal strength at the mini box is not quite enough.

Contact Sky and they will probably provide you with a booster (free)

I don't want to tempt fate but since my main box and mini were upgraded to Q170 about a week ago I've had no pixelation issues so far. Normally BT Sport recordings are the worst for me so I've recorded quite a lot to test it and all of them have been fine.

That's good news unfortunately the mini box I have most pixelation problems won't upgrade, so have spoken to sky.

The 170 update. Do you have to do this manually or does it just automatically. Does everyone get it at same time cuz im still 160

@Roy29 no we don't all get it at the same time normally when the guys in here say they have had an update I don't get it for a few weeks.

I think you just wait, I am still on v.160.  At some point is goes on general download, at this point you can force an update if you missed the rollout for some reason.

when I spoke to sky he said they had sent out 1 million updates.  They send them out in a sequence over a few weeks.
