Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Just noticed that the mini box is on software version 160. Checked the main box, it's still on 150!
Only checked because I'm watching the football (Switzerland vSpain..extra time ATM) and there hasn't been any problems, whereas previously watching live games on ITV I was getting issues occasionally.
Fingers crossed 🤞 it stays this way.. although reading the previous few posts, I don't hold out much hope. You never know though 🙏

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Hi
All my boxes are at 160 software seems to be a little better only time will tell.
Rest assured If it's no better I will be opening up my high level complaint.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
I got Q160 yesterday and it didn't prevent a couple of pixelation events this evening when watching a recording of the last 45 minutes of the Spain v Switz match on ITV.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
The latest software is distributed to boxes in a managed way updating so many at a time. Your boxes will be updated eventually.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
I'm afraid to say that the 160 update hasn't cured the issue on my mini. If anything it's made it worse. I was on to Sky yesterday and got the usual answer that their so called technical experts were working on it. Trouble is they told me the same thing in March. Getting close to cancelling.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
What's the point of getting an engineer out when it's a software issue. Like I said, my home setup hasn't changed but the problem started as soon as the Prime app was introduced in November.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
FWIW, I've uploaded a video showing an example of the pixelation glitches I'm seeing (on both live TV and recordings) since the Q160 update arrived. Details in the description. Previously they were narrow horizontal strips of distortion but Q160 upgrades them to full screen distortion.
Oh dear

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Yeah that's exactly the same thing I'm getting but my picture also freezes for 4/5 seconds too.

No freezes here. I used to suffer regular 5-second spontaneous rewinds though which were apparently connected to Sky's 5-second buffer when distributing content to a Mini. I haven't seen any of those since Q160 arrived.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box
Pixelation seemed better after build 150 (I could live with it) but still had sound dropouts on main box. Only had 1 nights viewing so far, no sound dropouts yet on main box but more frequent pixelation on minibox (definitely worse). @Kei+M any feedback from techies yet?

For the record, I may have to withdraw my complaint. Two nights ago I power cycled the main box (for the second time since the arrival of Q160) and since then I haven't seen a recurrence of either pixellation glitches or audio dropouts on my two Minis. Tonight's footy will confirm albeit last night's match, yesterday's Wimbledon, yesterday's Tour de France and today's SkySportsNews (all live) and a handful of recordings have passed without incident.
