Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

I'm using Sky broadband. I have had this issue on/off since approx the start of December. Don't remember any issues at Christmas but I was mainly watching live tv at this point which is never affected by this issue

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Yea Ray.20 just wandered if it was something on that outage or a fix they put in, but Ginger has mentioned they've had trouble before that happened.

If we've all got the same issue that developed around the same time then it surely can't be an issue we have ourselves caused, but getting them to admit that....

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

I would say December would be correct. Ah its so frustrating not knowing and when it dose its. Sounds silly could it be due to many working at home the network satellites are not managed correctly lol?

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

@GingerOneSky  The Wheel was pixelating horrendously on live tv for us.  So bad we switched it off.

I stand by my view that this is bitrate related.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Interesting.... I have just skipped through The Wheel on the main Sky Q box and there was no pixilation at all. Re-tried sale test on the mini box and pixilation still occurs

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

I think its some sort of interference. If people are getting it on there mini box plus main Q even live TV and if they rewind and nothing its like normal then its got to be ? Sadly its knowing what and could be a number of things. We can all stream Netflix to mini prime etc ok? Our mesh network appears stable. Now all do me a favour and go touch your sky boxes do they feel cooler because both of mine do? I'm not kidding i think its software thats maybe dropped the  Frequency but will be interesting if anyones boxes where warm like me now cool ? Lol I'm.going.mad

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

The top of both jubsky boxes are warm as usual. Both are well ventilated so I think these boxes just run warm anyway

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

@Anonymous  Don't forget that when you try rewind and it's okay you are actually accessing what's being recorded to the buffer not live TV. That makes a big difference. What are your satellite signal readings telling you?

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

As in signal? 70%

Quality 90%

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

@Anonymous  Nothing wrong with those stats, though of course weather can affect the picture. We had snow earlier and the picture was pretty pixelated then went off completely for around 20 mins.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Sure I guess sky will have to be the people to fix it its all very strange.

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Just for reference, I have no live tv issues at all and my signal strength is 80 with signal quality at 90

Re: Pixelation on recordings mini box

Although the signal strength is based on the transponder the tv guide is broadcast on.

Channels have varying signal strength spending on transponder but you can only see that with a meter - that's what I've been told anyway!
