Discussion topic: Phone & plan upgrade keeping same Sky number

Hi been with Sky mobile a few years & have 2 data contracts. One has just renewed so I upgraded my phone & new data package to keep my number. Received my phone, the website told me to put my sim out of my old phone into my new one & the new data plan will transfer to the new mobile on my existing number. This hasn't happened & my old data plan is still in play & I keep getting new messages telling me to activate my sim?

If you upgraded your data allowance then it may be it won't take effect until the next billing period, it doesn't normally change mid bill.

So you also ordered a new Sim? If you intended keeping your old number then you should have upgraded the data plan on your old sim not order anew one. As you've ordered a new sim for the new data plan this is why you are being asked to activate it. If you don't need the new sim/number don't activate it. Instead you need to update the plan on your old sim.

Thanks for replying, no my contracts run out it was an upgrade for phone & plan on my existing number? I'm going to have to ring them tomm don't think there's an way round it.

They haven't sent a new SIM card.

If you upgraded the data package then it should start straight away but if you changed it to a smaller one then this will start after your next bill:
