@ianmerseyside Not in UHD is obvious from the screen prints shown where you put your pin in.
i watched every game when EPL restarted, that would cost a minimum of £75 extra per week now - total rip-off.
offer PPV at a reasonable cost - say a £5 per game, or allow purchase of all games for say an extra £25pm.
they need to realise most people aren't flush with money in these present times.
i think they are doing it to get back at the government for not allowing any crowd in.
it must be better for say 25% of capacity to be allowed than everyone crowding into pubs/clubs to watch it for free - especially when indoor concerts with reduced attendances are being allowed, and lower league football can have crowds - absolutely no consistency at all.

@Raider999 I'm not sure that many people will be even trying to watch matches in pubs. Generally speaking, people go to watch a match in the pub and meet up with their mates. In Tier 3 the pubs won't even be open (unless they can serve you a meal), in Tier 2 you can't meet someone in the pub from outside your household. The whole thing is a nonsense, but it seems some companies are making money from it.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThe PL have no doubt done a full costing exercise. They know how much they need to pay back to Sky/BT for their costs. Realistically, these PPV games are aimed at the supporters of the two teams involved rather than the mass football audience. It stands to reason that Newcastle - Man Utd will get more viewers than West Brom - Burnley but they've obviously decided that they wouldn't get three times more viewers if they charged £5 rather than £15.

A lot of EFL and non-league clubs are providing streams of their games as PPV - but with season ticket holders getting free access.
Not sure Man Utd fans are willing to pay at all at present 😀

I can understand charging for 3pm games or charging for non subscribers but why on earth do subscribers get punished? Especially when its 8pm kick off games, I bet when european games are back on their be extra. What a joke

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThat is a question you need to ask of the Premier League @skycw as it was their decision to put these extra games on pay per view. Last year these games would have not been on TV anywhere in the UK as they would have kicked off at 3pm on Saturday as these are the games not selected for live TV coverage by either Sky or BT.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreThey were all the 3pm kickoffs. They move moved from 3pm after it was decided afterthe Premier League decided to offer them as PPV.
This is all down to the Premier League - NOT Sky or BT!

Its a new season though back on track with the normal schedules, e.g Friday night games, Saturday 12.30am, 3pms, 5.30pm and Monday nights. They cant say these games wouldn't of been on TV or 3pm KO ? For e.g sheff utd vs Fulham wouldn't of been 3pm kick off because Fulham wernt in the Premier league last year. The Premier league are absolutely clueless im sorry

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreBT and Sky both picked their games for this weekend - as usual there were five left over which were all scheduled for 3pm and were NOT going to be shown live in the UK.
The Premier League (well 19 of the 20) decided that those five games (which were NEVER going to be shown live) should be made available for the fans were can not go and see the games live as the grounds are still closed.
BT and Sky provided the techincal services to make these available and the Premier League take all the profit.
As it is not possible to show five live PPV games at once using the current setup - the times were changed.
I really can't see why people are so upset that something they were never going to have - has now been made available but at a cost. I do agree that for most Premier League clubs and the overpaid players - the cost could be seen as high.
If the grounds were open - how would you have watched these five games live?

The cursor should appear in the first box ready for the PIN entry.
Although I agree the cost should be in the synopsis/
@NozTalgia wrote:Mine doesn't say anything about the price at all, and I certainly won't be paying £15 per game. Would have been much more willing to pay extra for all games, but that'd run into the £100s over the month at £15 a pop.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreAre those complaining about paying a mere £15 per game to watch a match the same supporters who are prepared to pay upwards of £800 for an annual season ticket to watch perhaps 19 - 30 games a year at the stadium, if you are lucky, or even £50+ or more per at the turnstile plus all the other costs, such as travel, associated with going in normal times?
There are an awful lot of hypocrites around!

Just one point, in fairness. Sky has always had the top picks for the football and premier football has always been with sky and the number of games available is exactly the same as always. There has always been a number of games which could only be seen at the staduims. This was only right otherwise the teams themselves and the staduims would not get any revenue. It would be a terrible shame if the staduims would have to shut down because they were getting no customers because they had no customers because of covid19. So sky has produced a system where some of the revenue for the staduims could recuperated and also give customers the ability to watch these games. It should be noted that these game would never have been watched via the premiership channel anyway because they never have been.
