Could you post a pic of the full rear connection panel?
I think all the Q variants we know of have TOSLINK there, not Mini-TOSLINK

@Colin+335 Yip need picture of the full rear panel of the box. Never seen a Q box with that port.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@bemak187 Certainly nothing like anything I have seen before. I wonder if someone has done some kind of lash up in the past to fix a broken port which were common on the early boxes - needs mending with a new one if you want to use that port.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Colin+335 I agree with @Chrisee That is not how the optical out should look on the box and seems someone has done a bodge job. Your box may not be brand new as they are loaned.
This is how it should look

@Colin+335 100% some sort of refurb/repair job done on this. Not been brand new when installed. No Q box was ever manufactured like that. New box from Sky is the solution as they shouldnt have installed this one to begin with.

Although that's a v1 2TB (Q Silver) with the mysterious HDMI-in port ; )

This was fitted by a Sky Engineer !

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Colin+335 did not say you had done it. The boxes are usually refurbished and sent out again so it could have been modified at some point but missed by whoever refurbished it. Certainly it should look like the picture @GD1 posted all of my boxes do and I have had several over the years.
If you wznt one of us can escalate this thread to Sky so you get an invitation to a chat through the forum to get the box swapped out - certainly an odd one I must say.

Nope, the original 1TB Sky Q (non uhd) looks like this
So is as per the OP's box apart from the 'modified' optical out

@Colin+335 Could have happend at any point before it got to you and not every sky engineer is going to pick up on something like this. At some point from leaving the factory to you having it fitted someone has done a refurb/repair on it (a pretty bad one at that). Let one of the oracales escalate it to Sky and get a new box.
