Obscene increase in bills
I took out a contract with sky in January 20. It was £42 per month including Netflix and a £100 Currys voucher I NEVER received despite several emails and calls. My bill is now ,£58 going to £71 in August and £89 in September!!! This is absolutely disgusting and putting me into financial hardship!

Re: Obscene increase in bills
I don't know what deal you took, but it sounds from the amount of the increase that a discount is coming to an end. What does the offer confirmation Sky sent you in January tell you?

Sounds totally normal as the discount term would be 18 months. Future bills will rise unless you take action - you can either give notice to leave (31 days) or negotiate a new deal.

When you took the contract out you would have been told either when you spoke to someone or via an email how long the minimum term was for, now it has ended you are now paying the going price for your package so now is the time to call Sky to see if they will offer you a further discount if you agree to a new contract.

Re: Obscene increase in bills
July/August 2021 would be 18 months on from January 2020, so is exactly when you would expect the initial promotional pricing you contracted on to expire and revert to 'normal', which can be significantly more expensive. For example, the currently advertised price for the 'Superfast Broadband, Sky TV & Netflix Offer' is £43 pcm, but this becomes £68 pcm at the end of the minimum contract term.
