Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
Just had a firmware update overnight. Now on;
Firmware Version 3.04.1462.R
Noticed a lot more info in the log, some examples I have pulled out;
brcmboard registered
syslog: TR69: Connect to Production ACS
syslog: TR69: Connection to ACS Complete
syslog: TR69: Voice Profile SIP configuration received
syslog: TR69: Close ACS Connection
syslog: Voice Disconnected
syslog: TR69: Connect to Production ACS
syslog: TR69: Connection to ACS Complete
syslog: TR69: Close ACS Connection
Assume some of that is to do with VOIP SoGEA that I do not have on my line.
Sky Stream with two pucks (former Sky Q and Sky+ customer).
Sky Ultrafast + using Sky SR203 hub. Sky Mobile unlimited data. Sky Protect smart tech kit tester.
My good journey to Sky Stream from Sky Q. Click here to read

It looks like it's using remote configuration for the VoIP service.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
Does this new firmware solve not being able to use a custom DNS ?
I have the SR204 after upgrading to Ultrafast from Fibremax which used the Sky Q Hub. The previous hub had the firmware set by Sky on my request to access custom DNS. On upgrading I cannot do that. Making enquiries with Sky the issues was acknowledged with a firmware fix forthcoming. Is this it? So far I have not received it on the SR204.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
@robtodd according to the information I have seen yes it does although apparently you will need to turn off IP6 on the LAN.

Chrisee. That is good to hear. I have not been able to force the latest firmware today. I'm sure it will arrive soon.

You can't force a firmware download I'm afraid, it will just happen.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
a few questions. I've got the old sky Broadband hub (Black ) used with FTTC and because of the bad performance for wifi throughout the house brough GoogleWiFi.
1. Does the new Broadband Hub allow Bridge Mode?
2. If i invested inthe new broadband hub is the performance that better I would no longer need the Google WifI?

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
Hi @DinkyDavo there is no bridge mode on the new Broadband Hub unfortunately. The wifi strength is a great deal better than your old Sky hub but no way anyone could say whether it could replace Google wifi without testing.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
@DinkyDavo unless you run the Gogle wifi in bridge mode you can't as far as I know. Some people put the Google wifi in the dmz but not sure thst helps that much. Google wifi seems to be designed to work with a modem which is the US model

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
How do you setup the Google Wifi in Bridge Mode? are there better wifi mesh devices that work better with Sky Broadband better?

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
You'd want to run it in 'Access point' mode, this way your Sky router handles the network and the Google WiFi simply provides the WiFi connection.

Re: My experience with the new Sky Broadband Hub
@DinkyDavo no idea on the Google wifi - have yo read the manual I guess. The best mesh kit with Sky hubs is the Sky Q tv boxes which form a mesh wifi network.

There was a time if you did 2 reboots in quick succession the router would look for updated firmware on the 2nd reboot. That was back when the Sagem router was the latest router.
