Ordered the new hub today and just had an email from sky saying that I need to return my old Q hub and suggests that I can either package up and give to the delivery courier or I can print up a returns label and take to the post office. Does anybody know If I will automatically be sent packaging to send the hub back in or will I need to order from sky ( I no longer have the original q hub box). Tried to find out from Sky’s website but can’t find anywhere to actually request packaging.

There was a returns label for Parcelforce & collect plus inside as well as a large brown bag to put Q Hub in when Parcelforce delivered mine, not sure if that’s been the case for everyone though. Returns advice that was included said put Q Hub in the box for new Hub to return it. When Parcelforce delivered mine nothing was said about taking old one as a return, wasn’t until I’d gone out & retuned home a couple hrs later that I found a card from Parcelforce saying they’d attempted collection & would try again tomorrow!

@Steve-35 @Thanks Steve hopefully I’ll receive the same returns packaging when they deliver mine .. currently says delivery is expected tomorrow .. doesn’t make it clear in the email it just says to package securely and give to the courier or take to the post office sounds from your experience that they Parcelforce come back later to collect .. thanks again !

@DaveLloyd I was told on the phone it would come via Royal Mail which obviously wasn’t correct, whether any hubs are actually sent via Royal Mail remains to be seen. I’d suggest that if Parcelforce do deliver it ask the driver if he’s got a collection booked also so your at least prepared if they choose to come back later

That's new, Sky always used to send hubs via Royal Mail.

I never had a return bag or any sign of a returns email. But then I had the Sky Q hub when it first came out before I got Sky Q. I own it as I bought it back then., If I recall it was £40, replacing the SR102.

Ok, called Sky, upgraded to boost and new hub en-route... didn`t waive the £9.95 delivery though...
13 Sep 2019 11:31 AM
@Sinth Did you try & negotiate a deal on the boost? I was offered £2 a month off for duration of contract with £9.95 delivery for Hub or free delivery & £5 a month for boost.

@Steve-35 I did but wasn`t budging. I removed unlimited calls which was £10 p/m so sort of £5 better off.

Better than nothing I guess! Seems like Sky aren’t willing to budge on the fee for boost but at a push will waive delivery charge, seems to be a slightly better success rate on that front

I tried the loyal customer for 7yr approach who for the last 4 months has had a very poor journey with Sky & equally as poor customer service....got me nowhere! 😂 Only had success after logging a complaint against a CSA who threatened me & submitting a cancellation request....that was the point where the deals that supposedly couldn’t be done were wheeled out to keep me as a customer.

Hi There. I am in the process of upgrading my broadband from 'Essential' to 'Superfast' and have been sent the new Hub. I have a start date for superfast to go live on 19 September but can I set the Hub up now to work with Essential or will it only work with fibre?
All advice welcome.
