Keeps disconnecting from wifi

Why does my sky q box keep disconnecting from wifi (BT if it matters). Does it once/twice a day at least, and around 1/2am every night. Driving me insane and a pain in the backside. Checked with BT and my speeds are ace everything else in the house works just the sky q keeps loosing connection, bit of a joke when I pay so much a month

Hi

I have the same problem everytime i turn on my Sky Box i have to Re Enter my BT  Wifi code as it says you are not connected.

Mine still 'connected' but says there's no network ie internet connection. Like it's connected to the box etc but not to the actual data? Everything else still works the Xbox phones etc but the sky won't

Yea mine is the same other suff connected to Wifi but not the sky box

@sincosav Have you got eco mode turned off on all boxes. With your saying it drops in the night that's a common issue with eco mode on

@sincosav press the home button scroll dow to settings > setup > preferences > standby mode


I may be a Sky Superuser but I am still just a Sky customer

@sincosav Settings>Setup>Preferences set Standby Mode to None

Your chat claimed it was a BT fault and were unhelpful so I am still no further yet you take my £50 odd a month

@sincosav I had exactly the same issue for ages and tried everything. I've got BT too but ditched the BT Hub for an Asus WiFi 6 router. I set the 2.4ghz channel to a static one, I chose 6 as my neighbour uses 1 and 11. It fixed the issue straight away, some users don't won't to try it but it is a common problem if you Google it

Honestly I'll just leave sky. The customer service with BT is on point and skys is horrendous. Charging £50+ a month for awful service id rather go elsewhere. I've tried to get the issue fixed but instead of looking into it they blame a different company/provider... who have already been out and checked my lines and equipment. The issue lies with sky and the customer service aren't interested so I will be cancelling. I shouldn't have to change internet providers when it's not an internet issue its the sky boxes won't

Hi @sincosav Have you tried turning off the "Smart set up" on your BT router, as this has been known to effect SKYQ equipment?
