Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreKeep at it guys - it's clearly not a speed issue or the dns number change wouldn't work

Steph, I have 5g from Three. I also run a mesh network using 3 Wi-Fi extenders set to Wi-Fi. My speed is more than adequate at around 450 Mbps. I also run a Sky puk on a second tv in the bedroom. Reason I changed from Satellite dish and Sky Q to Sky Glass was because the best speed I am able to get where I reside is 16 Mbps ADSL from Sky . I tried all other suppliers of fibre and none can help me at present. So Three's 5 g was a absolute life saver. Wish you luck and hope things work out for you.

Sky are lying out of their teeth.

Agreed, definitely nothing to do with speed, I'm getting constant 800-900 in every part of my home and garden with three 5g running through my orbi mesh system. Sky can't get anywhere near that speed where I am so there is no chance I would go back to their broadband, if I couldn't have changed the dns on the orbi I would have cancelled glass by now.

It has nothing to do with speed as I also have a back up BT copper wire system that barely makes 5mbps and it runs sky fine

Has this fault been fixed now? I've bought the Huawei router and set DNS to 1.1.1.1 about 2 weeks or so ago and it worked perfectly. My mother has the same setup with the the 3 router and it wasn't working, advised her to buy the router and I popped around today to set it up for her and low and behold it seemed to be working perfectly on the current Three 5g router!!??

@Jimbob1825 I've had no update from sky or three to say it's fixed, I'll try my sons because his puck is using three 4g and I haven't been able to change the dns on that so it hasn't been working.🤞 it's fixed, will be straight on the phone to sky if it has and see what compensation they are offering 😛

Have just changed my 3 router back to default dns settings and everything seems to be working perfectly again, so looks like it's been fixed, finally!!

So just checked my sons puk which is on a separate three 4g router that I couldn't change the dns on and all seems to be working finally. So my question now is for those that changed the dns what are the benefits of changing it back? Could just leave it as it is incase it ever happens again?🤔

I've set my mesh network back to default DNS and also can confirm that everything I've tried so far seems to be working okay. I've spoken with sky a few times about it and logged the issues with them, so it's a bit annoying that they haven't bothered to let me (and others) know it's resolved.
I'm not sure there's any harm in leaving the DNS as Cloudflare, some may say it's more secure / private this way, but I'll keep mine as the default and at least we know that we can fix it next time Sky breaks it. The only downside I saw from having a Cloudflare DNS was one of my Surface Windows devices kept insisting I'd changed time zones and therefore would change my time/date. This may be linked to DNS or may not, but it started happening at the same time (turning off automatic time zone fixed it anyway).
Thanks to everyone in this thread who helped work out the problems and supported in finding fixes etc 😄

I have been having this problem with picture freeze than waiting to load sometimes goes black screen and then when returns it is almost like fast forward. This has only started happening last few days and have tried all resets as people have mentioned. Not a great service at all now. Up till last weekend could not fault it

I have Vodaphone and despite 100mbs this also happens and the program freezes. I purchased glass for simplicity over the months I can say I regret it. It simply is not good enough

I use Vodaphone in get the same problem. Easy to blame third parties. Your stuff hasn't been adequately evaluated before launch......

It's not 3..

I'm on Vodafone. .. and the last few days in the morning and evening I'm getting the dreaded "please wait.." and when it does load you'll go through a period of freezing. And then it's ok... Until you change channels.
I've already advised any one at work to avoid Glass.
