Unless Sky Ultrafast 'Fibre to the Home' is available to your address, then broadband is delivered over a phone line.

@HansopYou don't have to have a phone plugged in to take calls, plus the line rental is now bundled with your broadband.

For any fixed-line ISP but Virgin you can't avoid the need to have an Openreach 'line' (either copper or optical cable) arriving at the address: other ISPs can't use Virgin coaxial cabling.
