How long does it usually take for sky to break their silence on things like this? I mean the web is full of playlist queries/complaints.

I think we could be waiting a long time for that. That makes it too public, I think they will resist that as long as they can.

However I would imagine that they might be briefing the support staff on what to say to the inevitable deluge of customers looking to return the TV and cancel Glass, the reason for returns mainly being the car crash that is Playlist. Something along the lines of they are aware of the negative reaction to Playlist and improvements and tweaks are being urgently worked on.

I'm going to be phoning tomorrow to clarify when is the last day that I can contact Sky and arrange to cancel Glass and go back to Q. I fully expect to be grilled on my experience so far, and to be given lots of reassurance that I shouldn't be hasty as they are working away dilligently to address concerns and compalints.

Re: How does the playlist work?

I had a thought that could be stupid but hear me out...

if you don't sign into all 4 and itv hub then add a program to playlist does it record or still want to link you to the apps and force a sign in?

thanks if anybody can try this

Re: How does the playlist work?

@Jayboy1990 I bet it will just take you to the app sign in page but no doubt @GD1 can confirm this 😂

Well, the guy on the YouTube video 'recorded' an episode of Air Crash from Nat Geo and Playlist wants to play it from the Disney+ App, which he doesn't subscribe to!

Re: How does the playlist work?

If you have to wait for a show to finish before you can watch it then thats like going back to the days of video recordings! One of the best features of Sky+ when it first came out was that you could start watching a programme while it was still airing and no longer had to wait for it to finish.

And what if it doesnt appear on catch up? On ITV Hub on Sky Q sometimes the show never appears or takes hours or even days.  Even the most popular shows. So you could ened up with no way of seeing the show you want.

I assume (as I've not seen mention of it) that there's no concept of Series Links?

So, even if they 'fixed' the Playlist issue and it did actually cloud record rather than pointing to an App, it wouldn't automatically 'record' the next episodes.

@CRG,+Cardiff  Q and Sky Glass are separate products aimed at different market sectors. These is no pressure to "upgrade" and that is up to each customer. If Sky decide at some point they want to move people over they will have some positive encouragments and maybe some negative as well as they are currently doing with Sky+HD.

However currently satellite broadcasting has an end point as nobody seems willing to replace the satellites. We are talking over 5 years away but probably under 10. But whether Glass will be the only offerng is not known but Inthinkmit is unlikely.

Yes it would, they are not linked in the same way Sky Q mini are. Minis need the Main box to be up & running, the pucks don't.

Re: How does the playlist work?

@GD1 which really makes you wonder, why they could sell just the pucks on their own.... 😂🤑

@Jaden826  Who knows, in theory they could, maybe in the future they might? 🙂

The pucks for me are the bigger issue right now.

The first 4K live sport I watched on Wednesday night saw a fair bit of stuttering via my Ethernet connected puck with 500Mbps. Looking forward to the F1 practice and the Arsenal game later today to see how it copes.

I haven't tried watching live 4K sport on my Glass as it's in the kitchen. That's connected via WiFi.

Will try both when the F1 starts.
