Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
As I understand it (feel free to correct me😉) there are no licensing fees for HDR10 or HLG but to implement Dolby Vision would incur extra cost per unit (?) If that is the case one wonders if Sky would stump up the fees for it....🤔

I really hope they don't. They'll only make a bodge of it like most other things they do.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
so my trick of pausing live TV and pressing play straight after will cause the sound drops outs to occur repetitively. so I can re-create it issue almost at will. The drops outs will stop once I go back to live TV.
I have recorded it on my phone. Best way to post it on here?

OK. I figured out how to upload the video. Hopefully you can hear it, but you will see it on the front control panel of my AVR that's it's dropping.
AVR: Yamaha RX-V1067 with the latest firmware
TV: Pioneer PDP-427XD (yes seriously)

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
@Gridders , FYI I have a 32B107 which I believe is the v2 box & it has an external power brick. It is connected by ethernet to a virgin media router. Mini also connected by ethernet. Both Sky boxes have wifi turned off.
I don't have any noticable network problems when downloading or streaming on the Sky box but only occasional use these.
I do get audio dropouts which are there if I rewind & replay. I am currently using a timer plug to power off the Sky Q box at 4am & then back on at 4:15am. This seems to be reducing the frequency f the dropouts but doesn't eliminate the problem. This may add more wait to the memory leak &/or load building up theories.
Obviously no guarentee it would be the same in your setup but might be worth trying even if just to eliminate it.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
Adding my name to the list from the old thread.
Only got Sky Q in August so pretty sure I have the latest box & the sound cut out issue has been present since day 1. Tried fiddling about with settings & changing HD cables etc all to no avail but feel like I'm wasting my time, it's clearly something at Sky's end rather than mine.
Fault is very intermittent, sometimes I will watch a full programme & it won't do it but yesterday in a 45 minute programme it did it half a dozen times which for me at least makes it extremely annoying rather than unwatchable.
Judging by the length of the other thread Sky have been aware of this for some time & it isn't fixed yet which is completely unacceptable. As is closing the other thread when the issue is still there.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
As per my video upload has anyone else been able to recreate the issue by simply pausing and then press play immediately after pausing. I can't pretty much do this every time. This method also makes the sound drop out repeatedly rather than just the odd occasion. I not tried doing it after rebooting the Q box. Will try that at some point.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
My Q box suffers from the sound dropouts, but the picture also freezes for a fraction of a second too. Also, the menus are very sluggish and laggy. My brothers (new) Q box is lightning fast with no lag whatsoever. He still has the sound dropouts though. Mine runs through a Denon 4500x into a Panny Oled via 8k HDMI cables. I believe my box is the V2/2tb as it has the external supply...

@Jukejoint My menus are laggy as well but TBH I put that down to my ridiculously slow broadband speed rather than anything else.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
@sambora71 my sky broadbad is all wired with wifi turned off. It shows a healthy 68meg on the netflix test so that isnt the cause for me.

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
Thanks @51AO
Typically I could have had the V2 HDR box yesterday but I kind of felt that would be backwards progression...however if yours is ok then maybe I'll go back to Sky and demand the v2.
However, as yours is not Wi-fi I can't be sure that will help as there's no way I can connect my minis by Ethernet in my setup. Engineer suggested hard wiring the main box which I agreed to....but they can't do it under the current restrictions.
Anyone else here got a V2 with minis that are network stable on Wireless?

Re: HDR v3 box not fit for purpose (sound cutting out)
@Jukejoint Like I say I've only had Q for 6 months but the lag does seem to be worse than when I 1st got it.
Maybe something to do with software updates but my speed is only 17meg on a good day so don't think that helps.

V2 with 2 minis working wirelessly as the minis are sited not near the router and I dont like trailing wires this was my preferred conection.
I've had network issues but wasn't aware until checking the screens of the various Echo devices dotted throughout my house but my stance is if it aint broke why fix it so I just leave alone until it corrects it's self.
Maybe I just might be able to count the issues on one hand but seeing as I've had this setup since day one (4 years)
