Just been contacted by a SKY representative who then refused to talk to me because after I had confirmed my full name and address asked me for my full password? When I said I would confirm some letters of my password (ie 2nd and 4th characters) she said I needed to give her the full password verbally or my mothers maiden name! Surely this day and age with identity fraud and cons this is unacceptable according to GDPR? So it turns out she wouldn't discuss my offers that I am entitled too for being a long standing customer because I tried to protect myself! Wow just wow, thanks SKY

Hi Brianholt, she explained that it was SKY policy to ask for the full verbal password and explained that she could tell me what I have ordered in my TV package and how long I had been with SKY to confirm who she was?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@LindaH1975 If the call was genuinely from sky then the password they would ask for is the one setup specifically for telephone account access if you have one setup, and not the one you use to login to your account via app/website as they are completely separate
However you were right to be cautious especially if you don't have a telephone password setup on your account
