FTTP which modem.

Ok, FTTP looks to be availble to my property now. I have the Asus RT-AX58u router, I see sky no longer offer free calls with the current deal for FTTP so am thinking i would just need a new Modem, Not intrested in using there hub if I don't recieve free calls.

What modem would i need to buy?

Part of the fttp install is openreach supply a ont optical modem

So the asus will just plug directly into the port 1 on the above box

Not on the ont and it doesn't pass the stats onto the sky hub anyway

Basically what will happen you will ethernet the asus to the sky hub initially to perform firmware upgrades so that it displays client identifier (option 61). Then disconnect the sky hub and plug the asus in.

Then in the client identifier (option 61) enter

anything@skydsl|anything

And the asus will obtain the public ip and all router functions

Was that ever an option?  Sky Talk is either charged at ppm (branded as Sky Pay As You Talk) or as an allowance bundled into the subscription at an additional monthly cost (Sky Talk Evenings & Weekends Extra, Anytime Extra and and International Extra).

Telcos are typically allergic to the word 'free'.

@dibdab

Stats dont exist with FTTP. The connection is either on or off. Any speed issues will either be your internal network or possible problems on Sky's end.
