Hi oldfella,

thanks for your reply.

I have a friend in Italy who is a SKY TV customer, and he told me he can watch FOX NEWS.

So, I don't understand why FOX NEWS is available in Italy, but it's not available in UK and Ireland.

Do you know how to submit feedback to SKY please?

Hi @Klaud79

Afraid that this isn't going to happen .

Fox News used to be one of Sky'S channel but was pulled by Fox I believe and highly unlikely to return in the future,

Re: FOX NEWS

Fox News closed in 2017 due to low audience views, with about a thousand vierers per day. (Ref)

Fox News also broke Ofcom rules, which didn't help. (Ref)

Well, that was what 21st Century Fox claimed.  That they did so right while the ownership battle for Sky and the question of whether Mr Murdoch was  a 'fit and proper person' was at its height may have also been a factor...

Fox News also broke Ofcom rules, which didn't help.

I'd suggest it was more the concern that they would be very likely to repeatedly do so in the future unless they only showed UK-produced content: the inherently partisan US style of 'news' production would be very unlikely to remain within the Broadcasting Code (and frankly I'm amazed that CNN gets away with what they do ; )

Re: FOX NEWS

Hi,

I'd like to say FOX NEWS is available in Italy (channel 523). Here's the link to the Italian SKY TV website:

https://guidatv.sky.it/canali/fox-news/446

Maybe one day FOX NEWS will be back to SKY in UK and ROI? Maybe not, but I hope so 🙂

@Klaud79

As I mentioned above, media speculation at the time centred around two issues: whether Murdoch ownership of Fox was an issue with his attempted purchase of Sky, and whether Fox News could remain within the requirement set by the UK Broadcasting Code for impartiality in news coverage.  The first is no longer relevant, but the second certainly is: availability in other countries isn't a good indicator that any particular channel is broadcastable here.

Re: FOX NEWS

Thanks for your reply.

I understand Fox News has been removed due to violating the UK Broadcasting Code.

At this point I would like to ask why CNN is not in violation of the UK Broadcasting Code: in regard to impartiality in news coverage...it looks like a double standard has been applied.
