Re: Formula 1

Not sure what's going on for you @button34 but on my 2016 Samsung Ks7000 the picture is stunning! Bright, punchy and for a 6 year old TV I'm blown away!

Re: F1 uhd hdr

@button34 I've had to change from my custom colour spacing to auto. My custom colour settings don't work well for hlg but are great when using hdr10. Maybe that's your issue too???

Re: F1 uhd hdr

So I've just noticed something on my AVR, it says that the video signal is 4k 50hz. Is this what it's supposed to be? All settings on sky q box and AVR have 60hz enabled if available.

I'm the same, 50Hz, have to say, looks nice (and that's on an oled during the day!)

@orionv75 thanks

I think UK (& european) Video aims to suit the 50Hz mains frequency rather than US based video suiting their 60Hz  supply

In the old days, the US and Japanese races were absolute jerkovision horror shows of 60->50Hz conversion. I'm not sure what they do now (ship their own camera crews around the world probably instead of using local firms)

Don't know if now the viewers in 60Hz territories suffer the reverse. Be very surprised if they broadcast in 50Hz there. Maybe use better algorithms to do the framerate conversion.

Re: F1 uhd hdr

9/10 from me my only gripe is the laptime/position box on the left side of the screen has this annoying flickering kind of bloom to it around the edges of the box.

Re: F1 uhd hdr

I didn't notice any flickering but was getting a little concerned about burn in 🙂

Re: F1 uhd hdr

You need to watch things with scrolling/static boxes for tens of hours on end like everday of the week i have read to get burn in.

Re: F1 uhd hdr

This is true, I've had mine for 3 years and never an issue, but would like for that position fixture to come and go a little more often.

The clarity today was superb, will check out channel 4's highlights tonight to see how the old HD compares.

They should lose that bright white outline. No flickering/bloom for me though.
