Re: F1 uhd hdr

I have noticed it has not been saying UHD for alot of it that is being shown unless you go to other showings where it will say it is in UHD/HDR. I have noticed this happens for the football to other programs and films. We should be told what format things are in on the first page we go to instead of having to go to other showings.

@yome  for any Sport in UHD or HDR I just say 'uhd/hdr' into voice mic and scroll down to Live sport which should list all UHD in next few days.

Shouldn't need to do that though. If you have your output res set to 4k/10 then it should default to showing UHD content when available.

Re: F1 uhd hdr

My hdr compatible box should arrive just in time for 3rd practice. Had to upgrade and lose my legacy f1 entitlement but actually works out cheaper at the moment.

Re: F1 uhd hdr

Have people been having any more HDR signal dropouts? Had one yesterday 2hilst watching the F1 show and none since then. Not sure if maybe they've sorted the issue or it's device specific.

I have not had any drop outs through any F1 session - I have a Panasonic (OLED) TV which as far  I can tell from the discussions over football (which I rarely watch) are generally unliklely to have  drop outs

@DipDipDipam No, working fine.

This HDR stuff is very good. The night track really shows it off. Shame we don't get to see the glowing brake discs though!

I had one Sky HDR dropout on my Panasonic in a movie a couple of months back and that's it.

What an absolute ball ache for you. Unfortunately it's all too typical of Sky. Their stock control of Q boxes is random to say the least. It's the absolute waste of time, energy and money involved in incidents such as this (for both them and you) which annoys me most.

Best of luck with getting an HDR box on the next round...

Re: F1 uhd hdr

Thanks, they clearly don't completely believe me as they said they are going to send an engineer out to check the settings and replace the box of it's the wrong one. This, despite me reading them the model number from the menu. If the engineer comes with the wrong one I don't know what I will do.

Sorry my phone doesn't seem to like this site. If I hit enter to start a new paragraph the curser goes crazy and keeps going.

My advice would be not to take it out on the engineer - they don't have much control over the type of boxes they are given. If it's been correctly ordered by Sky then they should have an HDR capable box as part of the individual job description on the day, but if not then all you can do is ask if they have one on their van that you can have. If they don't then give Sky an earful again and at the very least ask for a refund of the upgrade fee, as well as the correct box. Good luck!
