Why is SKY trying to charge me an early cancellation fee when I wasn't under contract. I have been paying month to month since last year.

Presumably because they would say that you are under contract, so what did they say when you phoned them about this ?

I have been in contact with them via email without getting anywhere to be honest. They keep changing the goalposts.
I think they are just trying to punish me for cancelling but I had no choice.

No I was paying £47.50 because I was out of contract.

Find out more@WaterfordWarrior The only reason why sky would charge early termination is if you cancelled whilst in a minimum term period (usually 18 months). and receiving discounts off full list price , which is covered in the terms and conditions you agreed to at signup and therefore sky would be entitled to apply them if you cancelled during the minimum term

As they are saying you are in a contract then all you can do is to put in a complaint:
