Correct. Not the iPlayer app on Sky Q however. Supported TVs and devices for UHD HLG iPlayer streaming can be found here:

Sky confirmed that the Olympics would see the first live transmissions of UHD HDR content via satellite available to Sky Q customers in the UK. There was some hint that there may be some live UHD HDR cricket shown by way of a test before Tokyo begins.

As ever with Sky however, anything (or nothing) is possible...

I think this is where some confusion lies around the Olympics and the UHD HDR streams that are coming to Sky, they are going to be provided by Eurosport and not the BBC who as you say, only supply UHD HDR via the correct iPlayer app.

@stereohaven  The Olympics start (unofficially) next Wednesday 21st and officially  Friday 23rd.   I have been looking at the Eurosport schedules on the planner and the only option to view is HD or SD, no options for UHD/HDR that I can see.  Does anyone have any further information please?

I don't have any further information as I'm not privy to the detail, I'm just a regular customer like you, but unless there is a last minute change of plan I'm sure we will hear soon.

The Olympics has always been the target for live UHD HDR sport on Sky, it has been reported in a few places and confirmed in this thread.

If you read this thread you will see that a group,of pop up Eurosport HD channels will launch tomorrow in slots from 983 to 989 giving 9 channels in all with Eurosport 1 and 2  and I would expect promotional material to tell you how to watch will launch at the same time. Eurosport have been promoting their streaming app but not mentioning the satellite coverage.

I would expect to see UHD versions of one or possibly more of these (not sure how many UHD transponders Sky will be freeing up for use). The first real test will be the Opening Ceremony on Friday at 11.30am on Eurosport 1.

If you say "olympics" and then toggle over to "More like this" and go down to the tile Eurosport Tokyo2020 it lists whole load of events in UHD starting with the Womens Football on Wednesday 3.45pm.  No HDR flags though.

I just used voice control for 'Olympics' there's a rail of Olympics in Ultra HD/HDR starting with Woman's Football at 9.30am on Wednesday.

Yes, that's just appeared today.  It's the same rail but is just flagged as UHD. Hopefully it's just because the  listings people don't know the diffrence between UHD and HDR.

I can only see the uhd flag, no hdr flags for any olympic events.

Don't HDR tags only appear next to UHD HDR shows in On Demand? Has there been any UHD HDR broadcasting on Sky yet for anyone to know if live broadcasts will have an HDR tag in the menu?
