Re: Epgservices sky never miss

As said by others earlier, it's the loss of my data (lists of films and tv shows) that the most annoying. A warning would have been trivial to do.

Geektown looks useful for tv shows but what are the options for films? Has anyone used:

Is it safe? Does it work?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I just looked at that link above, I can't answer whether it is safe or any good, but it doesn't appear to search the programme only the words, phrase etc. So if you have missed Friends (for example) it looks like it will send you anything with the word friends in it and if you were to include to search the description, you would be getting irrelevant emails all day.

Also, if you missed season 9 of Friends, there doesn't seem to be anywhere you can choose the season, so again it will tell you about every Friends episode, unless you include 9 in the description, but then you are back to the above scenario.

I apologise if I am wrong, because I haven't explored the site properly, I just feel with my first impression it isn't right for me.

I haven't yet found one I like, but I totally agree that if we had been told so we could list the programs we wanted it would not only have been better for us, but also more respectful to us as customers.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Sky has decided that they want to make it as difficult as possible for people that have sky to access how they can keep up with all the programs series that they watch because the new system doesn’t work brings up old series which you have seen and not the new series

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@Annie+UK .  In effect this is Sky's way of attempting to promote other programs by trying to make customers go through irrelevant (to them) listings and not meeting customer Never Miss assistance.  Marketing?

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

@Annie+UK   Why?  Misguided loyalty to Sky rather than Joe Public or Kudos rules?

@bob1234   NDAs!  Sounds like the Trump approach.  If it was me my  morals would not let me  be party to such deceit.  However kudos is an important requisite for some.

The excellent Geektown website has now improved its own Never Miss service. You can now create an account and keep track of those series you have set a Never Miss for.

Yes, it only does New Series and No, it doesn't do Movies but it's the best we've got right now.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

Thanks OJ, 🙂

Just to clarify (as that could possibly be misread), it isn't only new series (as in new tv shows), it is new and returning seasons of shows.

As a rule, we don't list the "second run" or repeats of a show, unless the first run is somewhere obscure like AMC UK (e.g. we list Fear The Walking Dead on AMC UK and on Amazon Prime.) We will sometimes list a show if it pops up on "normal" tv (i.e. Sky) for the first time as well if it had only previously run on a streaming service (e.g. we list Vikings on Amazon Prime and on History). 🙂

Not very good when tell a show going to be on within a week then it's useful but when it tells you weeks before not very useful at all.

@Totalwar2 All I do is put a note in my phone calendar to remind me when it's time to add it to the Sky box.
