Re: Epgservices sky never miss

I have no idea....I got a reply from someone in Customer Services and all he said was that they had no intention of doing anything about it, that they advertised all future series on the TV (in the adverts which I never watch as I record everything - which I said to him) and that was that really......they are not bring it back....no real reason was given.   I imagine it has something to do with cost......

As posted numerous times before, all Sky will say is that it was withdrawn "for business reasons". That's all they'll say.

@Carrrie  you should also take a look at this potential replacement service here

I would be very hesitant signing up with that site - it has no details at all about who is running it, nor does it have any data protection policy.

Not sure why, but their sign-up page has changed a lot from how it looked last week, there was a lot more info about them then. I'll keep an eye on it as I did sign up. I have received an email from them which said " We will keep you updated on progress towards launch. "  That was 15 days ago.

@Carrrie  And @rscott  the site seems safe to me and like @Anonymous  says it's changed a lot since it first launched and it now includes privacy and ownership details

Here is an update on the site from someone called Steve, posted on 9th July:

Hi Nevermiss followers,

Thank you for expressing your interest in our new service.

I promised to keep you updated with progress as we develop this idea.

We have spent the last couple of weeks identifying data providers and performing early tests of data.

To be honest, this has proven more difficult than anticipated. However, we have now narrowed it down to two providers and hope to make a decision in the coming days in order that development can start in earnest next week.

My thanks to all those who have provided their thoughts and ideas. As a former user of Sky Never Miss (a service I relied upon),  I am pleased to say that I am aligned with many of your thoughts.

Of course, ultimately our capabilities will be dependant on the data, but we will aim to meet as many of your expectations as we can.

In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any comments or questions.

I look forward to providing a further update next week.

Best wishes and thanks.

Steve

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

As advised I have submitted a Sky Web Complaint form with respect to this issue and emailed their CEO.  Sky are playing their get out of jail free Covid card by saying that their response time is compromised by the pandemic and to seek an anwer in Q&A - don't think that this is applicable.  They do however advise that they will prioritise at risk groups including those > 70 years.  I won't hold my breath but thats me!  My submission was:

"Reading the RadioTimes I noticed that a post mid season program  which I had set up to be reminded of in Never Miss was returning.  I had received no notification of this but have now discovered that Sky, in their usual asinine way, cancelled this service, without warning, in May.  Therefore, along with many other users (see forums) I am no longer receiving notifications for my selected programs and worse still I have lost my saved list.  This is an abomination by Sky.

If one goes into what was the “Never Miss” site there is now a message:

“ Never Miss Out. There’s an even better way to know when a new series begin or return from a break .......

> On Sky Q simply select Home and then TV Guide, and scroll up to New Series to find shows recommended for you”.

This is no substitute for the original “Never Miss” where an email was sent when a program was returning and the provided link could be used to programme recording on the box.

The pathetic excuse for a service now involves constantly checking New Series to see if a desired program is returning and then manually programming the box to record (no more than 7 days in advance as well). It is also fickle and there is no guarantee that a desired program will be “recommended” and appear.

All in all this is a disastrous move by Sky and represents a further deterioration in provided service.  There was no prior warning let alone consultation with the paying customer.

BRING  NEVER MISS BACK ASAP.

cc [redacted]CEO BSkyB

I will post any relevent replies on the forum.

Re: Epgservices sky never miss

As recommended I have submitted  a Sky Web Form Complaint relating to this as well as a cc to their CEO.  Sky recommend looking in Q&A for issues as they are very busy because of Covid but will prioritise shielding groups including > 70 years - thats me so we will see what happens!  My comment was:
