Engineer Visit

Are the engineers still coming out to install Q boxes under current Covid restrictions? I'm due a visit on Monday 11th Jan.

Re: Engineer Visit

@russell1962 Do you mind giving an update on how your installation went as I'm due for mine in a couple of days and i want to find out beforehand from first hand experience as to how it was and how the engineer was.

Re: Engineer Visit

I hope you get better service than what my sister had on Monday, She has moved into an apartment the previous occupants had Sky Q and left all the cables from wall and my sisters Sky HD box works fine.

So all the engineer had to was to give her the box and tell her how to swap over or worst case scenario I would go round to sort out when she is at work.

But no the engineer turns up obviously in a bad mood says I can't do this as I need to go into apartment loft and I don't have the correct ladders for that. Sister tried to explain was just box swap and about previous occupants but would not listen and left.

I went round yesterday with my Sky Q box plugged into in and all working as expected, so sister calls Sky to say can the engineer appointment be brought forward from mid March but they refused as engineer had said needs to enter loft but even though a sky can see she watching tv refusing to just get engineer to bring box

@Jamie+Simms

It might be worth ringing Sky and asking for a Sky Q receiver to be sent to her for a  'self install'

Godfrey.

@Jamie+Simms I have escalated this to Sky and hopefully they will come back to you, Private message or email, and be able to sort something out for you.

Re: Engineer Visit

I.had a engineer booked for 28th to install sky q box when he arrived he said he couldn't come into.the house

So disappointed

Sky overall are a disaster

No humans working there at all

"I.had a engineer booked for 28th to install sky q box when he arrived he said he couldn't come into.the house"

Why is this such a surprise in a Covid Pandemic lockdown?

A Sky engineer to risk his health just so you can get something installed that's hardly a necessity?

"Sky overall are a disaster. No humans working there at all"

Obviously there are because they care more about their staff than you do.

Re: Engineer Visit

Why bother calling if they can't come in .totally stupid .

They organised this engineer to call not me ...

He told me if it was my broadband he could come in .

@Roger+Peters

By the way i have no issue with the engineer  .and understand fully

Why waste someone time . He also can't understand why sky are giving them these calls when they can't enter a house .

So stay in your box  . Nothing to do with you .

Re: Engineer Visit

Does anyone have a contact number to call regarding an engineer no show?

Open reach engineer due out today, hasnt showed up, no text or message from either open reach or sky, really poor service. I am now on hold to customer services and have been for 33 minutes

Re: Engineer Visit

Any idea when sky engineers will be allowed inside properties to do new installations ? I ve moved and the property did not have sky so they need to drill from inside. Thanks

@herman74 The rules have changed slightly in that the engineer can now enter your property as long as they are happy to do so and as long as you the customer are happy to allow them

Re: Engineer Visit

Does anyone know if Sky intend to resume engineer visits on May 17th, or maybe June 21st, in line with the Government’s proposed roadmap?

I have a slight reception problem on one or two channels, (pixelation), which necessitates coming into the house, and I’m toying with buying a new TV,  but would like the problem fixed before buying the new TV.

@Frank39 Sky have already resumed engineer visits engineers crrently assess the situation with the householder and if both in agreement will enter the property

Re: Engineer Visit

I have contacted Sky today, 12/04/21, and an engineer visit has been scheduled for 19/04/21, hopefully the pixelation problem will soon be solved, and the enemy indoors can start checking out Curry’s for a new Smart TV,

Thanks for your interest Laing 1.
