Discovery+ issues

I have had discovery plus for a while now and all of a sudden am unable to watch anything. Says I need to upgrade but says I have current subscription with skyQ

Hi there, we are aware of some issues with Discovery + at the moment. We are looking to resolve this in a software update soon. There are currently no work arounds. Sorry for the inconvenience.

I contacted Sky this morning. There has been a problem since the beginning of December that sky and discovery plus are trying to rectify and hopefully will soon in the new year. It's been where the year subscription has ended and the new hasn't automatically updated. But they are very aware

me too! so annoying! watched discovery plus at 3pm on 29th dec 2021 and worked fine - went back to watch it at 7pm and now keeps saying i need to "upgrade" - i've been with sky for over 22 years and rather than them keep "congratulating" me for being a long term customer i'd much rather that the programmes work!  i've updated my sky q box to the latest software (thought that would have come directly from sky rather than me having to google it!) i have logged out and logged in BUT still tells me i need to upgrade yet then says that it will NOT PAIR with the PARTNER i am using - this app is directly on the sky q section so i'm not watching it on anything other than my tv - i've tried to watch it on computer/iphone but still won't let me!  come on sky! you've just put our prices up yet again which didn't need to go up as i'm sure you are one of the few that have made money out of lockdown due to the "boredom" of being under house arrest - most programmes are repeats - the only channel worth while is netflix - i'm sure this is the reason why customers are leaving sky and going to netflix and firesticks!  sky you need to up your game! i for one am NOT impressed! sort this problem out!

google states discovery+ are updating their software - sky q tells you to restarts sky box, update sky box, sign out of discovery+, sign into discovery+ and still nada!  i phoned yesterday and after pressing every button on the keypad taking me to every question under the sun it then told me to look for information online and wanted to send me a text message! why on earth in this day and age would ANYONE PHONE if they could get answers from the internet! yet more stupidity from sky and their so called "customer service" of which there is no service especially to customers - so what is our increase for? certainly not for phone 'elp! omg!

shame they can't give us a date - to be able to watch it at 3pm on 29th dec and at 7pm no access to it is a joke! sky managed to send the emails regarding payment rise quick enough yet can't sort this out!  if they can't do it then they shouldn't advertise it!  i've been a sky member for 22 years but seriously considering taking my business elsewhere when contract ends - they care NOTHING for customers - all about the money

According to discovery help today I no longer have an account with them and I need to pay a subscription.

sky rewards tells me I have a discovery account for a further year so where does the issue lie?

Yes I contacted discovery plus first and told me the same thing. They wasn't very helpful at all. Kept saying to contact sky

#johnboyrog - omg! is this REALLY true?  mine keeps saying "upgrade" BUT will NOT allow you to upgrade - it then says the "your provider does not have content access to discovery+" - whichever way it is either upgrade or a sofware problem, there is absolutely NO WAY to link to get discovery+ - it doesn't work on the app, the tv or my desktop!  would be one thing if we had to now pay to view but we don't but there is no other way to get access to this channel - KRAY-ZEE!  what on earth is going on with sky?  can't speak to them, can't call them - why do these big companies that have us by the short and curlies gladly take out monthly subscription yet don't allow us access to a human to ask a question?

so i've just managed to speak to a human being at sky to ask - was told in an extremely bored voice "there is a problem with the mainframe and it will be 4-5 weeks to get it sorted out" - so 3 phone calls (2 of which at the end of pressing every option on the phone for over 5 minutes and being transferred everytime to another number press and at the end just got the bot to say "we will send you a text message") and still annoyed!  so there we have it! a free subscription for 12 months which ran for 12 months problem free and now sky "update" it and there's a problem with the mainframe - amazing how quickly it went off and i'm quite sure it's a one click problem solution BUT it will take about 4 more weeks!  i'd love a job like that where i get paid for doing nothing and giving nothing and just tell customers "GIVE ME YOUR MONEY AND I'LL GET AROUND TO IT SOMETIME"
