I'm guessing your Sky box has only a scart output while your TV has HDMI? There are converters available which can fix this - example here. But to be honest, a better bet would be to buy a used Sky+HD box from the likes of ebay, gumtree. They're available cheaply and would make the most of your new TV's HD capability. Just look for a DRX890 or DRX895 model.

 

If it's a different incompatibility, tell us more.
