Connection drops everyday at the same time for few mins

Hi all, from a while my router drop off the connection with internet everyday around 22:15, for a range of 2-5 mins, then everything come back at normality.

I'm used to use my laptop in that period of time so it's annoying to live this issue everyday, what can I do about that?

It suggests something is happening within your home at that time. Do you have anything thats on a timer or gets used at a similar time everyday? Electrical interference from any sort of appliance or gadget can cause line drops

Can you post your router stats

And then go to the support section on the router and copy and paste your syslog

I'm going to attach that below.

 

As you can see through the logs, the time is variable but usually it happens during the evening. Yesterday it dropped at 22:03, on 20th instead, the same stuff happened at 21:47.

It suggests something is happening within your home at that time. Do you have anything thats on a timer or gets used at a similar time everyday? Electrical interference from any sort of appliance or gadget can cause line drops

Mmh doesn't seems I have something like that, I just came back into my flat after some time and this issue started to face everyday leaving everything in the same way as I left before Christmas. The only thing I have turned on during the time I use that is my livingroom light turned on, nothing more.

@Alessio+1994 My router did exactly the same thing yesterday for no apparent reason...line is perfectly stable and shows similar entries in the log, WANoe down, invalid lease etc, yet I'm on an VDSL2 connected, lease renewed, yet it reconnects with the same IP address. I'll be monitoring it over the coming days to see what it does. It seems like a completely  pointless drop, as it's not releasing the current IP address for a new one, which is usually when it does it, aside from DLM actions. 

The Eth2 is actually Ethernet port 3 on the router, the ports actually start from 0. All that is is whatever device you are using powering up and connecting to the router, I don't see that being the cause of your connection drop. @jamesn123 @cookiemonsteruk I think that's a red herring.

Hi all again!

I guess @jamesn123 hypotesis was the right one, I relaized I have the oven display timer tilting continuosly so I tried to remove the electricity on that and for the next 2 days the problem didn't appear! 😱 It's a very weird and mad issue and I still don't realize how you sorted that out but thank you! Hopefully this topic may be usefull for other people with my same trouble.

Hi all!

Unfortunately I'm forced to reopen this topic, after few weeks the problem appeared again.

It sounds like a coincidence that when I turned off the oven elec the connection stopped to drop, but now it started to happen again every night even if the oven is off. I don't know what to do and it's so hard to speak with the customer support for that.

This used to happen to me regularly, I may be able to shed some light on this.

 

Do you have a Sky Q box? 

If yes, there's a recalibration/reset thing the Q box does every single night at the same time without fail.

This procedure ALWAYS knocked my router out for 2-4 minutes while it completed (and still does to this day).

 

If this is the same thing affecting your system, to manage it I had to set my Q box standby mode to "None" and leaving it on to delay the "scheduled recal" till a point that was convenient for me.

Leaving the setting as "Active or Eco" mode the box will automatically do the Recalibration when it wants to pausing your Internet briefly.

My Sky router is restarting everyday at the exact same time 22:32 since forever. I always had Sky Q box so I'm not sure if related or not.

Hello, yes my router did the same at 1:15am every night without fail, I didnt realise my box was affecting it untill I noticed my Q box does this reset/update check thing at the same time where the box standby light goes red and the Blue Q light is active. 

 

I have managed to get round it by doing the steps I said in my previous message and set my box standby mode to "None" and just leave it on (with the TV off) untill I go to bed.

At which point I put it into standby mode (orange power light) manually and the reset/update check then happens which knocks the Router out for a couple of mins as we've both been experiencing.

 

This is the only way I've managed to delay/stop it from affecting my router while in use.
