Cloud Storage - Does this exist?
First things first, I'm really enjoying the sound and picture quality of Sky Glass, it's fantastic compared too our previous TV. However I'm hitting a few bugbears when i go to watch added shows on my Playlist, that's bothering me a tad.
When we signed up for Sky Glass, we where told that there's no internal storage anymore as it's all done via the Cloud. I thought this was a good idea, even with the 12 month cut off, as it seemed I'd have practically unlimited storage (not that I'd need it). However, I'm noticing more and more that this doesn't seem to be the case. Every "recording" takes me to a Catch-up service and some of these a pitifully poor, the biggest one being ITV Hub. Twice now I've been watching a programme, left midway and returned later to be thrown right back at the beginning. This is a total pain, especially as I need to foward through each individual advert break if I try to return to my last watched position. Considering this is a major channel's catch-up service and Sky seem to be using it constantly, you'd think it would be far more user-friendly.
Anyway, back to my original question. Is there actually cloud storage for some programmes on the Playlist, or was this incorrectly sold to me? Am I forever now at the mercy of poorly devised catch-up software?

Re: Cloud Storage - Does this exist?
Yes. From the FAQ,
"Recordings are available for most of our partner channels but unfortunately, it’s not possible for everything.
BBC, ITV (STV, if you’re in Scotland) and Channel 4 shows are available via their apps, and all of the content is available to search and add to your Playlist. BT Sport and Music channels are the key examples of channels that cannot be recorded. Recordings are available on all other channels, although there may be specific programmes that are not recordable from these channels too."
And "Each household has 1000 hours of cloud recording storage. Programmes in your Playlist that are on demand or link through to an app, don’t count towards the 1000-hour limit."
I would recommend reading the FAQ if you have not seen it already, see HERE

@Villordsutch In short, it exists but you/the system will hardly ever use it (unless Sky changes the way it works)

Re: Cloud Storage - Does this exist?
Sky needs to desperately get rights from BBC ITV and Channel 4 to cloud record as not doing so is totally ruining the Glass experience.
No one will listen if there's no customer momentum though.

That will never happen. Those services, and any other service offering it's own app, will always offer their programming on the basis that viewers are directed to their own environments for viewing.
Sky is simply an aggregator of their content and is offering customers an easier way to see what's available (via their Home Screen) and giving a bookmark to view programming. The only other option would be to offer no bookmarks and for the viewer to trawl each app individually.

No @Anonymous , I replied with it and then thought a post would be better.

This seems like an accurate description. It's hard to fathom what Glass subscribers are paying for since anyone - even another TV manufacturer - could aggregate links to the various external channels and even many Sky channels and if they could put together a reasonable programme guide, what has Sky got left? Their pucks and the home TV networking are also easily replicated. What others don't (yet) have is an efficient, user-friendly programme recorder. Neither does Glass by all accounts so Sky would be well advised to get its act in order.
